A bit different

I really liked the Maniatis. The rooms were somewhat small, but comfortable and spotless, and the beds were good. Most of the furnishings looked like they had come from a design studio. The breakfast was really good.

The hotel is on the main street, which has lots of shops and cafes.

Unique Quality: The lobby was ultramodern--somewhat surprising in a country with so much ancient history. Big fabric-covered foam "eggs" served as extra seating, and there were a number of sleek sculptures. There was even a semi-circular glass phone booth.

Travel Tips for Sparta

Sparta, Greece

"The Ruins Of Sparta"

Sparta was a city in ancient Greece, whose territory included, in Classical
times, all Laconia and Messenia, and which was the most powerful state
of the Peloponnesus. It is also the name of a modern town some kilometres
away from the ancient site.
** NOTE**
Sparta was actually the name of the ancient town Lacedaemon
