Great place - we'll come back soon!

by TripAdvisor Member MarcinEl

Excellent place for those who look for quiet and silent place. We rented a car to see a 'real' Crete. Otherwise you may feel the place is a little bit in the middle of nowhere. It's like 5km from Aghios Nikolaos (taxis waiting for you just in the front of the hotel, or you may take a bus). 10km from the Hotel (Sitia direction) we found excellent, amazing, golden sandy beach "Vulisma" (at the Kalo Chorio). Food at the restaurant was ok, but nothing special (maybe because we used to eat outside in the cozy, Greek tavernas). We didn't use any activities at the pool - but all the people from international activity team were trying to force us to join them. Many people from Russia, UK, Poland and Greece. Try to visit it before peek season - service quality is much better (you're not just another tourist then). Beds were too hard for us - but after all - who cares ;-) Important - take a room with a seaside view.

A good value holiday in a quality resort spa

by TripAdvisor Member KeithtRuncorn

A wonderful holiday in a quality resort spa.good service from a very friendly and efficient
staff. Food and amenities great. Pink Wave animation team were excellent, Very friendly
and attentive to all age groups.- Well done Erica and Team Thank you Costas - Gen.
Manager.

Without any doubt the very best entertainment team at any resort we have stayed at.

by TripAdvisor Member Keith1946

The hotel is a long way from the airport so transfer is either expensive or long. Once there however the whole experience was very good and we totally relaxed in a wonderful atmosphere created by the wonderful entertainment team. As with all the Aquis hotels we have stayed in now they are still struggling with the ability to provide 5 star all inclusive service at nights in the bars and the food was adequate but not 5 star. As a gin and tonic drinker the lack of tonic on all inclusive was strange since we had enjoyed tonic in the other 2 all inclusive Aquis hotels. Any faults were very minor and in comparison with the price paid were completely insignificant and the Ericas entertainment team made it a wonderful experience

Close to perfection

Just returned from 10 days ar the Blue Marine and loved every second.
From our arrival at 1 am to find a meal in our room fridge, to our evening departure with shower and towel facilities the service was outstanding.
The animation team were great, actually very talented which is unusual!!!! Big Hi to all espcially Aurelio who was a sweetheart.
Food was very good as was the service.
The rooms were lovely and clened every day with fresh towels if required.
All in all cant find a fault. Would reccomemend to everybody looking for a little luxury and relaxation

YOU CANT GET BETTER AND WONDERFUL VALUE

by TripAdvisor Member dennis15

I read the previous reviews for the 2009 Season and they rather put me off and I was expecting the worst. Wow what a surprise when I arrived and found that this hotel was only 2 years old and immaculately maintained, everything 100%! and you dont get that as normal. It has been leased by the Aquis Company and mostly all staff have been changed for this season and boy does it show, everyone is so friendly, on the ball and professional. I have stayed on business for the past 20 years mainly in 5 star hotels and this one is amongst the top ones. Obviously you get lesser meals for the buffet which are still great and we even did not take up the offer of a free night in the a la carte restaurent because we liked the way the buffet worked. Just walk in and select a nice table, then over to the beer and wine pumps and simply help yourself and it was great quality as well. Up and down as many times as you want for the food!!
My room had everything you would expect and seaview, except us Brits do like a kettle for a morning brew and this was not provided, so take your own. Oh and when you get your free drinks proper glasses are proved and no silly armband stuff, just ask and you get.
I wont go on and on but with the magnificent view and wonderful hotel you wont get better and excellent value at that. So my rating is 10 out of 10, well done the staff of this hotel!!.

Lazee Ladies Holiday May 2010

by TripAdvisor Member TMNUnitedKingdom

Can't thank or praise the hotel enough. We weren't expecting too much but got far more than we bargained for, so much so that we didn't want to leave the complex during our stay or at the end of the holiday for that matter.

I would like to thank the hotel personally for a most enjoyable holiday, myself and my girlfriends all enjoyed ourselves and I really can't thank you and all your staff enough for everything they did whilst we were at the hotel - my birthday in particular was a highlight the champagne, cake and fruit which was left in my room were very much appreciated even though we didn't manage to eat the cake and fruit as the food was so good in the restaurant.

Please extend our thanks to all of your staff including the animation team who were all so lovely.

I have already recommended to friends and family and we definitely hope to visit again.

Perfection, without dispute

by TripAdvisor Member DanielJackson89

This is the first time that I have ever been to a hotel and said "I would go back there next year". The food was amazing, the service was amazing, the people were amazing and the animation team were amazing. What can I say to convey what a great time we had? The two of us arrived at the hotel on the 2nd of May at 1 in the morning to a welcome drink, and a plated-up dinner in our room. In the morning we awoke to the most perfect sea views, and a buffet breakfast in a very posh restaurant where the waiters were all very friendly and helpful. During the day we had the choice of the pool (refreshingly cold) or the private beach (immaculate with crystal waters) and even a E1.40 bus ride to the town. I would say the town was expensive, but who cares when you're all inclusive! In the evening the barman George will be rushed off his feet making sure everyone is happy, and he does a really good job. The shows that the animation team put on - along with the daily activities are superb, especially Mario and Aurellio - who have been excellent without fault.
The weather was hot (23-29C every day) without a single drop of rain.

As I have said this was an experience that I would gladly return to next year!

BRILLIANT HOTEL

by TripAdvisor Member carriclaire

my partner and i have just returned from the blue marine and wish we were still there! It is a beautiful hotel with stunning views the staff were excellent reception were there to greet us at 4 in the morning with drinks and in our room was a light salad (very welcome)
The bar staff were excellent especially georges, ivan and aristrea, the animation team (lubi, erika, mario and the rest) were brilliant they didn't push it if you didn't want to join in.
The food was good and plenty of it. The rooms were large and spacious with plenty of cupboard space. The spa was wonderful and relaxing (when there was no screaming french in it) all in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely go back

Excellent value for money, great for a week away

by TripAdvisor Member BBD_22

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a cheap week away who is just looking to relax. When we booked we were told there temperature would be early to mid 20's but in actually fact the weather was beautiful sunshine and more like late 20's early 30's The transfer was about an hour by cab but quite a few other travellers came by coach which was double the time than a cab. Apon arrive the staff were very helpful and friendly. There is an entertainment team that has a lot of fun activities for you to join in or watch from around the pool through out the day. The rooms were cleaned everyday and if you needed anything the staff were happy to provide this. The sea view rooms have a lovely view over the hotel pool and the beach. My only dislike was where our room was. We were on the first floor (the same as reception) near the stairwell and the lift which we thought was ideal but turned out to be very noisey and we had no chance if we fancied a layin as the noise from the other travellers was so loud we were woken up every morning from people going to breakfast. I'm sure if we asked to change rooms we could of. The food was lovely with a lot of varity with breakfast, lunch and dinner having a good 3 hour window for each. There were also snacks at 4pm everyday which we never needed as we were still full from lunch. We also got a free dinner in the a la carte restaurant which made a lovely change to the buffet. I was very pleased to find out that the spirits included in the all inclusive offer wasn't just the local spirits, for example the vodka included was Smirnoff and also 5 different cocktails along with a local beer and house red and white wine. There wasn't much around the hotel in the way of doing things but a cab trip to Agios Nikolaos was only 9euro which had plenty of bars restaurants and tourist shops. None on the trips from the rep interested us but at reception you can arrange to be picked up to go to the water park for approx 36euro including entry but we didn't enquire in time and ran out of days. On our final day our coach transfer was early, picked up 4 passengers and left 10 mins early with out us! We saw the coach from the lift, by the time we got out it had gone. I spoke to the staff at reception who were extremely helpful, called the company (by the sounds of it really fought our corner) and managed arranged a cab to take us to the airport at no extra charge. This was our first All Inclusive deal and I don't think I would go self catering again, I was a bit worried as my boyfriend can be quite fussy with his food but there was also something there for him. All in all we both absolutely enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommed this to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday!

A week in Crete

by TripAdvisor Member ROYALAIRFORCE3

Friendly, helpful staff in a very clean hotel. The buffet food had good variety. The salads were wonderful. As we were touring around Crete for much of the week, to view archaelogical sites, it would have been good to have the provision of a packaged lunch.
