I would also like to know in Athen close to Acropolis, what are the recommended value for money hotel (cheap + convinient). We intend to spent about 50-60 euros for a double room. Any good recommendation???

The Tempi Hotel is in that price range.

I'd also recommend Tempi Hotel, or the slightly more expensive Hotel Carolina (www.hotelcarolina.gr) which is just around the corner from the Tempi.
I would avoid Hotel Fivos at all costs. My room there was awful.

Are any of these acceptable and whether location is near to sights?

Do some research and stay away from the hotels near Omonia Square. Unless it's been cleaned up it has a reputation as the hangout for druggies and prostitutes at night.
