I am trying to find out a bit more about the company sunmed resorts as we have put a deposit down for a holiday to greece in september but at the moment they do not hold an atol number. after typing in reviews on sunmed resorts your comments came up - hence me approaching you for information.
their website that we are booking through is www.sunmedresorts.com
to confirm if its the same company you booked through.

hi i have paid for a 2week holliday all inclusive to benidorm and i am wondering if it is a ligitamate company as i paid my money in full i booked it on the 31/7/06 they said i would get my confirmation in 8-10days the reason i booked it was it was nearly half the price of other bookings i tried . so i am like you i am worried about it untill i receive my full confirmation please keep in touch and let me know if you hear anything .. regards

I am glad someone else has booked through this company as well. Yes our deal was very cheap also which made us think also if this is all legitimate? We have had a booked confirmation through the post for our deposit but still yet to pay the balance which is due now! I am going to book this through my credit card which double insures the booking as well. we are due to fly out on the 25th sept and should receive the flight info etc 7-10 days beforehand. when are you flying out?
we fly on the 27th september but i am still waiting for my confirmation i only hope it is legit as i put my friends on to it and they have paid in full so will you please keep in touch and let me know how you go on .

i also have booked accomadation through this company although i recieved details back from unbeatable holidays .i have paid my balance and recieved a letter confirming bookingbut when i faxed this to the hotel,they faxed back saying not booked in this name.contacted company who said they would sort this out with no sucess yet that was two weeks ago.accomadation booked at los dalmatas on 23/09/2006.let me know how you get on thanks alyson

hi mrs brown , i have paid the final ammount, i rang trading standards for some advise they suggested to ring hotel direct ,iam now going to ring the hotel las dalmatas to see if they have a booking for 7 adults on that date, even though i booked through sunmeds it was unbeatable holidays the credit card made apayment to, could you let me know what is on your invoice letter ,i have sent three e-mails to sunmeds /unbeatableholidays and holidays-rez@safe-mail and not one has replied. i will let you know how i get on

We looked at the websites for both unbeatableholidays and sunmed and the two websites look very similar. When we called unbeatable holidays for a quote on the same holiday we booked with sunmed, they gave us exactly the same quote. We then looked up the two companies on the companies house website and both companies registered for incorporation in November 2005.
We then called the admin contact number for sunmed and the person who took the call said he'd never heard of unbeatable holidays.
We haven't drawn any conclusions yet and will continue to do our own research. Our suggestion would be to keep researching if you feel uncomfortable with your booking.
If we find out more, we'll let you know.

they are no longer contactable by telephone we go in two weeks and our hotel has no reservations for us and have only heard of this lot through folk like me trying to confirm their reservations.

Thanks for the replies. Fortunately towards the end of last week we got a phone call requesting payment for our deposit which amazingly had not been taken out of our account. We have cancelled the holiday with them and also our card and have booked it elsewhere.
I really hope everyone else is as lucky as we have been.

Genral information if you have paid by Credit card you will be covered by there policy, if you have paid by debit card your bank can not stop the transaction. i found out about the company being fraudualant the day before the payment was due out of my account. if you persist with your bank they will cancel the payment but you need to cancel your card at the same time becouse they can apply for the money again using the 3 digit pin on the back of your card. paying by debit card you are not covered becouse you have given permission for the money to be taken from your account, although my bank Halifax had several calls about the same thing they will let the payment go through, i insisted on speaking to a manager who gave in and stopped the transaction ( GOOD Luck )

At first your bank may try to fob you off but you must insist take a printout of this document and tell them you have contacted the banking ombudsman and also log it with the banks fraud team do not give up on this some banks have already refunded under the rule we are with the halifax and have been told it will take 30 days. At first they refused point blank and it has took five days and a copy of the visa rule `chargeback` for them to admit it actually exists.

I am the same as all of you decided to go on a cheap break with my boyfriend and have ended up £730 short, no protection as i payed by cheque and no neck to ring! I've been to the police and they are very aware that this a scam and they are taking it very very seriously. There are five web companies in this ring they are:

I urge all of you to make sure that you report this to your local police stations and make sure you recieve a crime reference number. The three companies that are listed first have cleared out of there office spaces and are no where to be seen or contacted, the last two have only come to light today.
The metropolitan police have issued a freud Letter which is now avaliable on-line at HolidayWatchdog.com please fill this in and return it to them asap! There is also another forum which is currently running at the moment www.tripadvisor.com/benidormforum which is full of people in the same boat as all of us and are trying to help each other as much as they can. All containing useful information and details of the companies.
To all of you good luck, if we all pull together and help as much as we can we'll catch the scum but please be aware of what information you are putting on the web because if they are clever enough to set up what seems to be a MASSIVE money making scheme as this then they will be checking the forums.
If i can help any of you with any information then do not hesitate to ask i've been doing my home work on this bogus company, but PLEASE reprt it to you local bobby and make them aware of what is happening

just joined this today and saw all the queries regarding sunmedresorts.com. im sorry to say but this company is a scam and does not exist. i nearly sent them money for a holiday but got suspicious when i saw they were not affiliated to ABTA or anyone and the booking agent didnt seem to know what price to be charging me. the booking confirmation looked like something a child had printed on a home computer. i saw the information about the scam today on holidaywatchdog.com. you all probably know about this by now but for those that dont - do not use them. they operate under different names. you will find all the info on holiday watchdog. they are total scumbags to do this

For anyone who has not seen the news today there is a report that a woman and a man have been arrested in connection with the scam of the company 'sunmed resorts', trading under various names as in your emails.
The report was on teletext (page 313 today)and states that up to £2 million has been defrauded.
There is also a link in the holiday watchdog website to the Metropolitan Police fraud site, you can download a form to send to them if you have been a victim of this fraud.
I hope that this is of hope to all of those caught in this scam.

You should not only remain on the main streets but also wander in the small streets of Lefkas. You will certainly find pleasant houses. This one makes would make a painter's delight (also a photographer's!) with the white of the walls on the blue of the sky added with the other blue of the entrance and some green of the vine! How peaceful!
Lefkas is one of the Ionian Islands. This was our second visit to the Island with the first being just a fleeting visit for a couple of hours when we were on the Ionian Island Cruise from Kefalonia. We stayed in the resort of Nidri which is situated on the East Coast (also spelt Nydri ) It is the main tourist resort on the Island halfway between the town of Lefkada where the Island is connected by a long causeway and a floating bridge and Vassiliki. You arrive at Preveza airport on the mainland and the transfer to Nidri is about 35 minutes. NIdri is surrounded by mountains and the views across the bay to the other Islands of Meganissi and Scorpios are beautiful
This is the floating bridge that connects Lefkas to Mainland Greece. This was taken on our way back to the airport on our homeward journey and as you can see right in front is the mainland
