Olive Press Hotel: Interesting building
We stayed for 2 weeks bed and breakfast - the hotel is a converted olive press and is in a great location - on the beach near the village swimming pool and the outdoor cinema and only a short walk into the town.
Breakfast was great for us as veggies - eggs (boiled and fried) cheese tomatoes, bread rolls, fruit and greek yoghurt. Best of all the restaurant area is right by the beach, nad you can walk on the jetty and feed bread to the fish.
The room was very small - no more room for anything but the bed really. I didn't mind this as you don't spend much time there - what was a problem was the lack of any outside space - nowhere to dry your swim suit. And the proximaty of the cleaner's cupboard - very noisy.
The hotel had a bar but nothing really happens there.
Unique Quality: Interesting building, well positioned and breakfast was good

Hotel Eftalou: Pizza in Hotel Eftalou
Hotel Eftalou is a typical Greek family hotel. The rooms are not luxurious but they are very nice and clean and you have everything you need: minibar, airconditioning, TV, every day fresh towels, ... Food is also very good. We ate there breakfast and supper, but you can also take only breakfast and eat in the restaurant where they have the best pizza's from the island (I tasted them and it's true!) or you can ofcourse eat in one of the many restaurants of the nearby town, Molivos. I really loved our stay in hotel Eftalou, because it's not a big "mass-tourism" hotel, but a family business in the Greek style so that it's also easier to be in contact with the other guests and the owners. The hotel is 20 minutes away from Molivos, but the hotel provides a busservice a couple of times a day, although you can also walk, like we always did, or in the evenings you can also take a cab. The distance from the hotel to the town is 2 kilometers so it isn't really a problem.
Unique Quality: - it's a family business, so it's more personal
- contacts with the guest and the owners
- great food: typical greek food but also delicious pizza's
- nice rooms
- a beautiful swimming pool
- goodworking airconditioning
- a lot of cocktails at the bar
- not a mass-tourism hotel

Hotel Pasiphae: Hotel in Skala Kalloni
We love to stay at this hotel. It is run in a professional and friendly way. Its close enough to the beach and secluded enough for a good nights rest. Just across the Kalloni pool that attracts alot of birdwatchers and twitchers.
Unique Quality: The rooms are kept very clean.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The pool is large and welcoming!

Hotel Gorgona: lovely hotel in Skala Sikaminea
In the beautiful port of Skala Sikaminea I stayed in a deligthful little hotel, Gorgona. It's run by an elderly Greek couple who speak German (they've spent 40 years in Germany) and are very sweet. I fell in love with the flowered terrace and the oldfashioned feel of the place and ended up staying there.
Unique Quality: Spacious rooms with marble floors, TV, bathroom w. shower, airco, balcony, phone and minibar. Some rooms have view of the port.
On the large terrace covered with flowers, Michael and Rula will serve you a copious breakfast with anything you can imagine (and you can ask them for anything you want), including homemade marmelade and pastries.
