Athina Apartments and Studios: Cramped With No View

This accommodation was in an older style building, the front rooms looking out over the tidal river. We were in the back, looking out onto a car park except we had no view at all as a tree was growing right in front of our balcony.
The room had a very small double bed and a single, a reasonable bathroom and a minute kitchen one person could fit in. We even had to take the door off the kitchen wall cupboard to enable us to reach into it for crockery etc.

The bathroom basin tap was too big for the sink so the water went all over the floor. The shower was the usual snake-like affair where the water either dribbled out or suddenly became turbo- powered. There did not seem to be a hot water back up , relying totally on solar power which was not good on dull days.
The bed linen was miniscule, it seemed smaller than we had ever had and of course we had the usual concrete pillows!!
Having had a good moan, this room would have been adequate had there only been two of us.
The cleaning service was excellent, every three days and very thorough.

Unknown (Horefto): A Freebie

A large flat campsite at the south end of the beach at Horefto. Not officially open when we were there as no-one collected any rent and the facilities had been left open to the elements all winter. Nicely situated over the river with some sea frontage. Plenty of toilet blocks and laundry sinks (had to clear them out first) and the water was available.
Electric points all looked a bit dodgy but I expect they would have been sorted when the site was officially open.

Had it's own outdoor swimming pool (a freezing, fast flowing river) if you were so inclined. Pretty walks up through narrow lanes here with pleasant views down to the sea.

Olizon camping (Milina): A Bit Main Roadish

A safe haven for us to patch the van and relax at. A very hilly site, built in an olive grove. The few caravans and motorhomes that were there were crowded into the flat, bottom part, the rest being too steep and overgrown at the beginning of the season. Whether there were more suitable pitches for vans once the ground was cleared I wouldn't know.
Right on the main road which was noisy with tractors, mainly.

Open mid April - Sept.

The toilets and showers were immaculate and new. The site had other toilet blocks which were older and not as modern. There was arestaurant that was not yet open.
A little beach was immediately across the road where we were the only people to use it.
