"Skiathos"
Skiathos is a small cosmopolitan town with lots of restaurants along the new and old harbour fronts serving greek and International foods. The main street (Papadiamandis) has lots of shops to browse and bars for entertainment. The waterfront is always busy and is split in two by the Bourtzi promontory. The Bourtzi has a medieval fort and in the summer hold open air concerts. To the one side is the Old Harbour with cafes and restaurants and in the evening you will find fish markets. The Old Harbour is also where you get the boats to take you on the Daily trips to other Islands and also day trips to the beaches that are otherwise hard to get to. The new harbour is where all the ferries come in and where you can get taxis and buses. The main street is Papadiamantis Street named after the island's most famous poet Alexandras Papadiamantis whose turn of the century house is open to visitors

There are cafes along the waterfront and also a few shops and a chemist and also the tourist office where you can book any trips you may wish to take.
