 The Epavlis Studios are well located and for a small family-run hotel with a pool it is a relatively nice play to be. But the studios and apartments are of varying quality so if you opt for this venue you need to be certain that you're NOT on the ground floor.

The apartments on the ground floor are in a really poor position, tucked right behind the pool bar, the changing rooms and the toilets for the pool. There is room to sit outside but the apartments above are so designed that everyone hangs their wet towels and washing off the balcony rails and it all drips down into exactly where you're sitting - not particularly pleasant is it when you want to sit outsidewith a beer or a glass of wine - and eating a meal is totally out of the question. There is a solution - draw a rather horrid plastic canopy over your sitting area, and sit in the dark without sun. It'll keep you dry but not happy! Also you've got a walkway for all the other guests right past your seating area so there's absolutely no privacy.

Generally, the room was very dingy, the overall decor and condition was grubby and there's a storeroom right behind the bathroom which created noise and light in the room when we didn't want it, like the crack of dawn!

We asked to view other accommodation and the standard of other rooms in the Epavlis is much higher which made us feel very unlucky - we'd drawn the short straw. We asked to be moved to another hotel and had a viewing - again the standards elsewhere both in terms of cleanliness, position and ambience were so much better we really felt hard done by.

We complained to the rep and had to endure the owner storming into our room to look at some of the problems we'd listed with the accommodation and making us feel even more uncomfortable for the rest of the holiday to the extent that we spent all of our time out of the hotel.
