Walk to Lichnos Beach

On the opposite side to Valtos Beach is Lichnos Beach.
This can be found by walking through Olive groves to the Beach, or an easier way is to take a water taxi from the harbour.

Beaches

Parga has beautiful beaches, both in the town and on the outskirts. Those on the waterfront are small but picturesque with the church studded islet of Panagia facing and easily swimmable to. To the west, just beyond the castle, is Valtos Beach, over 1km in length. It is linked to the castle by footpath.
Lichnos Beach is 3km. southeast of Parga, complete with extensive campsite. You can catch water-taxis to the beaches.

Walk to Lichnos Bay

There are a couple of opportunities for some local walks in Parga too. Just beyond the Piso Krioneri Beach Road pass several apartments and a posh hotel complex (several good tavernas in this area too) a track leading into the olive groves is reached. Its a bit of a pull up at first but its a pleasant shaded walk and comes out at the top of the road which leads down to Lichnos beach. A little church amongst the olive groves is passed too. The road at lichnos serpentines down to the beach so we didn't actually go all the way down bu there is a nice restaurant at the top with wonderful views over the bay. In season you could walk down and get a water taxi back (being early in the season for us the boats were not running yet and it was too hot to walk up and down on a dusty tarmacked road.

After 5y of marriage my husband and I finnaly went on our honeymoon. We went to the beautiful Parga. This is a great, romantic place on the mainland, just across the Corfu island.
