Drinking fountain
It is the drinking fountain of Rimondi, who was a former governor of Rethymno. It is situated near Lodgia (at the centre of the old town) and impresses by its sculpture and architectural decoration.

Neratze Mosque Minaret
The Neratze Mosque is on the site of the Church of Santa Maria, which was converted by the Turkish in 1657. The impressive minaret was apparently built in 1890. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were unable to enter the building, but of course you are able to marvel at it from the outside. I understand the building is now used as a music school.
