The Late Minoan Cementery of Armeni is located about 10 km south from Rethymno town. There are about 200 tombs dated in the Late Minoan period (13th / 12th century BC).
Open daily: from 8 til 15h.

where do all these people come from??? i mean, the population doubles come nightfall!
of course, i had to participate in the merriment. of course, i had to stay up late to keep up.
of course, i slept in all of the next morning.
when i did get up late the next day, i understood why the daytime crowd was lean - we were all hungover!
anyway, spent the afternoon taking in all the beautiful sights of this venetian harbor town.
it's the sort of place that captures people's hearts. aside from the foreigners, there were a large number of local tourists, a testament to its broad appeal.
if i lived anywhere in greece, i'd come here for weekends too!
