Ferry from Piraeus to Samos?

Hi -I am trying to book a ferry from Piraeus to Samos via the web, but no matter what site I use, I cannot find Samos under destination options. Is it known by any other name? Is it impossible to get there from Piraeus?

We are seeking an overnight ferry with quarters...

Samos has 3 ports : Vathi =town, Karlóvassi and Pythagórion !!!

You need to look for Vathy or Vathi, the main port on Samos. Most ferries also stop at Karlovassi. The service is roughly one per day via Syros/Mykono/Ikaria. Very regular service, it is a main route, has been for decades.

Times vary a lot now depending on the day of the week. Many years ago all were overnight services arriving at about 06:00 but things have changed, I guess due to introduction of higher speed services.

The trick on just putting in the year was a lifesaver. Spent hours trying to crack the ferry listings for ferry's from Samos in October(at end of August).

Kerveli Bay

A lovely tranquil beach with plenty of room to find a secluded spot! Stunning scenery all around & warm clear water. Kerveli Bay is on the most easterly point of Samos.

There is a great restaurant called 'Haravghy' right by the beach which serves a good choice of Greek specialities. (I have put this on as a separate tip.) Customers eating here have use of the restaurant's complimentary sunloungers on the beach which is a great idea after a 'bigger than intended' meal! Parking is a bit limited at Kerveli Bay but having just used the restaurant we parked in their car park! They even had a hose/shower in the car park for after-swimming - always a bonus in my opinion!

Pythagorion

Pythagorion is built on the ancient city of Samos. Its name comes from the famous mathematician and philosopher, Pythagoras, who was born here.

Today, the town is the busiest of the island. It has a yacht and fishing port and a lot of hotels. Just off the main and very busy street, you will find yourself in quiet narrow streets and traditional houses built on the slopes.
