El Greco: El Greco

We had once a very early morning ferry and had to sleep, or at least spend the night in Igoumenitsa. We looked in the outskirts of the city for a hotel out of the city dust, dirt, crowd and noise. We did not find any really out of the city but found Hotel El Greco that was out of the embarkment zone and did not seem too busy.

As our sailing was scheduled early next morning, we went in our room right after diner, at 10-11 PM. As soon as we were in bed, began a very loud music, with flashes of light that illuminated our room every 20 seconds, and that lasted until 3-4 AM! Next door wa a dancing!!

Hotel Paradise is advertised as standing "north entrance". There are several road signs that advertise it but we have not found it. May be they have now improved their visibility!

I do not know if there is any hotel in Filiates (look at my retaurant tip). I have not seen any.

Nautilos: Camping

We were desperate to find a campsite with shade, on our return to Igoumenitsa at the end of June. Nautilos was the second site we looked at, between Igoumenitsa and Sivota. It was on a terraced hill, fairly large with small, shaded plots, all numbered. It had a childrens' play area and I think a cafe. There was a nice pebble beach only accessible from the campsite.
There was an empty swimming pool. Obviously the season had not yet begun.

Friendly owners who let us stay as long as we liked on the day we were leaving. It was also cheap compared with the other campsite in the area.
