In July I will go to Nei pori with our children and friends. We need minivan taxi for transport from Thessaloniki airport to Nei Pori/ 7 people/. But airport taxi is too expensive / about 300 €/, I found it on internet. Is it normal price in Greece or expensive? Can you give me a tip for cheaper one? Thanks Max
300 € is a crazy price. In most countries, airport taxis are more expensive than ordinary taxis.
From the airport you can take bus #78 (KTEL - AERODROMIO) to Dimokratias Square, then walk for 100m to "KTEL of Pieria" at Promitheos str. From there you can have a bus to Katerini and Nei Pori (can be spelled also NEOI POROI). Check the URLs:

Why not take the train. You have are blessed with a station in Nei Pori and its only a one hour ride to Thessaloniki!!! It's almost too good to be true!
Walking along the Aristotelous street from the center of the city to the waterfront or along Nikis Avenue which borders the White Sea, just before sunset on a summer day, is a memorable experience. The beach, the churches and the grilled calamari with beer :)

The first phase of the construction took place between 1890 and 1992 and was undertaken by the Water Company of Thessaloniki in order to supply the city and its surroundings with water from springs and water from Axios river.It was financed by Belgian capitals.The technical assistance was also Belgian.
About an hour drive on the way to Kavala is Amfipolis. Search for the Leon of Amfipolis, a -manlike- lion on the tomb of Alexander the Great's favorite fleet commander which was placed there to honour the dead for his courage and virtues as a man and as a fighter. Also, the Amfipolis museum is very interesting (in the village of Amfipolis).
The Airport is 16 Kms outside in south east of the main city of Thessaloniki. The Olympic Airways, which is the national Airline. It has 7 flights daily from Athens to Thessaloniki for approx. 53 Euros. Aegean Air is the private airline which is very good and has got tight competition with Olympic airways. both of the companices have their offices in airport as well as in the city.
