Best location in the city
After doing considerable research about where to stay in Thessaloniki, we finally decided on the Electra Palace because so many people raved about the sea view rooms. This was our deciding factor, plus, we were arriving by plan at 2 AM and didn;t want to end up in some small, dirty place in a back alley somewhere in a strange city. What a pleasure it was to arrive so late at night and find a beautifully illuminated building on the main square of the city, and still with lively cafe/bars just in front, at that hour!
The room was pretty standard, with TV, AC, minibar...but what we really liked was the balcony, view to the sea, and especially the view of the main square, Aristoteles Square. It was so great to sit on the balcony and watch all of the activity below, just being in the room was also like having an experience in itself.
Unique Quality: The location is excellent, on the main square, in a beautiful building. The service staff was nice, even if not the most efficent. Breakfast on the top floor, even if the buffet was mediocre and the service almost non-existent...the view was fantastic.
After seeing the location of some other recommended hotels (like those closer to the railway station), we are SO glad we stayed here. The main street is around the corner, and the promendae along the sea with all of its bars and cafes just steps away. There is no doubt that this was the right decision to stay here!
it is a bit pricey...but what the heck....you're on vacation, right?

I got a room at Electra Palace...
I got a room at Electra Palace Hotel; being honest: it's not so bad but I think it is not worthy of the price you pay.
Unique Quality: Unique but not so positive: the restaurant of the hotel looks horrible !!
