Its location was perfect: Right in the city center but not noisy. We enjoyed the historical building & historical location just behind the Agora. Our triple room wasn't big but we still didn't feel cramped because the ceiling was high. The staff was very friendly and helpful (booked for us the bus ticket for Athens etc.) We would stay here again, although the hotel doesn't offer breakfast. You can get cookies and tea & coffee in the lobby or eat bougatsa (Greek pastry) in the cafe right down the hotel, next to the Agora.
If I have to name one negative thing: In the bathroom there is no shower curtain or shower holder. This must be due to Greek style showering because the lack of these two items was common to all four hotels we stayed during our trip in Greece.
Unique Quality: The location is very central, right behind the Roman Forum (in Greek "Agora") and the staff has been so friendly!
Directions: Right behind the Roman Agora, at its northeast corner. Roman Agora is right behind the park which lies north of the junction between Egnatia St. and Aristoteles St. (Greeks won't understand "Roman Forum", use "Roman Agora" when asking for directions.)
It was nice staying at "Orestias Kastoria", find a cosy, clean and not expensive hotel. Small rooms but with clean sheets. The hotel was near the best part of the city, in my opinion, close to the white tower zone. The area was not very noisy. Great view of the roman forum from the hotel's window. Highly recommended if you do not want to spend too much on accomodation. for further information, check http://www.okhotel.gr/
Very good, cheap and clean hotel, just a few steps from the city center. The staff was very polite. You can check out at 11:00 hrs in the morning and the price was 38 Euro/no brkf included. The area was safe and had a nice view.
