Thessaloniki is my hometown but i happened to visit Olympia many times for personal reasons. Even though the hotel is quite old it seems that it keeps its quality. The rooms are not to big but everything is very clean and some rooms(especially those one the highest floor) have a great view. Its location is also very practical as it's really in the centre of the city. The personel is very professional and the food is in general terms good. The breakfast was luxurious. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who travels with family but to young people too. Disadvantages include to be patient with hot water when you have a room on the last floor and some times it can be noisy because of the many cafe's that are near.
Unique Quality: Most people do not know that Olympia is a hotel that greek actors prefer when they come to Thessaloniki to perform. So it's very possible to meet some of them. Another great point is the local cafe's and small taverns that are located near the hotel. Just before the hotel and behind the Olympou street there is a small square called Bezesteni. There you can find cafe's full of young people (mostly around 20-30) and some of them refer only to homosexual people. Be prepared to wait until you find a free table but the atmosphere is cheerfull and colourfull.
