Visit Ana Poli. This is the beautiful neighbourhood set on the huge hill near The Kastelli. Wander up the narrow cobble stoned streets and enjoy the homes and gardens and architecture along the way. Have a cold beer at the top at one of the bars and enjoy the unique surroundings. Then eat at one of the small tavernas in the area. Some of the tavernas are set in gardens!
Great Views of Thessaloniki
by mikey_e
Thessaloniki can feel a bit small, especially if you've come up from Athens, but it is actually a sprawling city that hugs the coast. To get a good set of shots of the city, both old and new, climb up in the direction of the Yeni Küle. This is not a trek for those not capable of a stairmaster, as the streets can sometimes be quite steep and there are sections of stairs. Follow Agias Sofias north from the seafront until it stops being Agias Sofias (this is about 10 minutes after you pass the church of the same name). Continue up to see the traditional Macedonian style houses and eventually the view of the city will clear beneath you.

Salamina
Salamina is one of the best areas to go for a coffe or drink during the summer. Especially if you go during the evening just before sunset. You can sit outside and enjoy the colorful sky.
The music hall of Thessaloniki is built in this area also

walk around the shoreline
by FRONA
it was a windy and clowdy day in the industrial harbor of Thessaloniki. However this beautiful boat made it all better. Plus, when you get tired of walking down the shoreline just hop to any cafe along it!
