Ios in Low Season
The far out beach club is located on Mylopotas Beach. M beach is the largest sand beach on the island and by far the nicest. The port is about a 30 minute walk uphill. The hostel does provide free pickup and dropoff from the port.
In off season this is one of the best places to stay as the bar and pool remain operational and the establishment is actually open. The bar includes a pool table and has food service. In addition there is a far out atv rental a couple blocks down the road.
Aside from the port and Mylopotas Beach area the rest of the island is almost entirely deserted in low season (Nov-May).
My room was 35 euro, it was on the 2nd level and had a nice double bed, an on suite bathroom, a tv, a heat/ac unit, and its own patio area. Price included cold breakfast - cheese, coldcuts, cereal and instant coffee and juice.

Something for Everyone
The 'Far Out' name seems to be everywhere in Ios. Far Out Camping, Far Out Villiage, Far Out Hotel, Far Out Shuttle, Far Out scooter rental, etc... Its a little obnoxious, but it does ensure that there is something there for everyone. I didn't actually stay at Far Out, but I did spend a good deal of time enjoying its ammenities, which are open to everyone. The camping is very cheap and a good option for backpackers, but I believe that it is located by the port and not Milopotas beach. I would stay here if you are coming to Ios for the beach; otherwise stay somewhere in the village for easy access to the bars.
Unique Quality: Multiple swimming pools, massages, hot tub, poolside bar, right on the beach.

A great stay in Ios...
Far Out Camping is amazing! Located right across the road Mylopota beach, it is one of the biggest 'resorts' in Ios. It is currently made up of Far Out Camping (which rents tents and bungalows), Far Out Village (which rents rooms and suites), and the Far Out Hotel (which is located just up the hill). There are several pools and bars on site as well as a little grocery store and internet cafe. Tons of travellers stay here and if they don't, will end up here during the day anyway. Every night there is a movie played in the cafeteria eating area and when it is done groups of people take buses into the town to take in the bar/disco scene. I was staying with 3 others in Ios and we rented a suite in the Village for 40€ a night! Far Out Camping is amazing, I would totally recommend it. They will pick you up at the port no matter what time you get in too which was helpful to those like me arriving at 4 a.m.!!
