Niki Savvas Rooms & Studios: Rooms with a Real View in Pollonia, Milos

The Niki Savvas Rooms & Studios are located on the northwestern tip of the Pelekouda peninsula, in the fishing village resort of Pollonia, island of Milos, Greece.

The Niki-Savvas compex consists of 10 rooms and studios, fully-equipped and furnished for a comfortable stay, on 2 floors. The ground floor units include a patio while the first floor units all feature balconies. Amenities include air-conditioning, small fridge, safe deposit box and a fast boil kettle while the studios feature kitchenettes with 2 hot plates and kitchen utensils.

The Niki-Savvas studios are about 10 km. from the port of Adamas, and 12 km. from Milos Airport. They are within walking distance from the Pollonia village center, with easy access to the bakery, mini-markets, tavernas, cafes and rent-a-car outfits. The tamarisk tree-lined, weather-protected main beach of Pollonia and the kids' playground is just 150 m. away.

Change of linen takes place every 3 days, while there is daily maid service.

Unique Quality: The main advantage of the Niki Savvas establishment is the direct, unobstructed view of the Aegean sea from all the frontside units. The water is just 10 m. away.

The owner family, Niki, Savvas and Jenny Vikelis are non-smokers, live on the premises and are always available.

Soultana's Apartments, Rooms & Studios: Hospitable Accommodation in Pollonia, Milos

Soultana's Apartments, Rooms & Studios are located on the Pelekouda peninsula, a few hundred yards from the water. They are within comfortable walking distance from the main beach of Pollonia, the kids' playground, the mini-market and the seaside tavernas.

Breakfast is not included at Soultana's, but for those who require it, it is available across the street (at her son's establishment) at the cost of €8/person. It includes coffee/tea/hot chocolate, bread, cheese, ham and eggs, and juice, and is offered between the hours of 8:00AM - 10:30AM.

There is also free guest parking across from the complex, and by June, underground covered parking may also be available. A swimming-pool may also be available by June, as well.

Rates are €45 - €135 depending on unit type and season. Reservations can be made easily either via IBAN bank deposit or by credit card and PayPal.

Unique Quality: At Soultana's there are double and triple rooms and studios as well as some of the most beautiful and spacious apartments in all of Milos. However, there are only two such apartments, and they go fast, so you better reserve early. Each apartment includes 2 bedrooms, a large living-room, a very spacious kitchen with a dining area, and a W.C. in addition to the main bathroom. All units are air-conditioned.

Mrs. Soultana is a conscientious elderly lady with an industrious work ethic and a big heart. She also raises chickens, and brings fresh eggs to families with small children, 2-3 times a week, for free.

Soultana's is one of the very few establishments in Milos that accept payments via PayPal for convenience, immediacy and security.

Giurgas Studios: A corner of Paradise

We had a little studio with a beautiful balcony on the colored sea of Provatas where we had breakfast every morning looking the few people in the water and the same lonely boat everyday. a woman cleaned the place everyday, the kitchen had al the facilities to cook pasta, meat or vegetables. The night was so silent and dark that outside the room we could sea a lot of stars and even the Milky Way. No dogs barking, no babies crying, no people shouting... nothing, just the two of us, the sky and the warm sea... In our opinion the ideal place for a honeymoon.

Unique Quality: Facilities in the kitchen, silence, maybe a sense of solitude (is it so bad?) however we were only 15 minutes car from the "nightlife"in Adamas.... great! Clean place and walking for 5 minutes on a slope just outside the door you could reach the beach of Provatas, with its crystal water, very good for families with little babies for the water is very shallow for many meters. The Veletas family has also a rent car in Adamas and if you ask they can rent you good car at a very cheap price. We had a Fiat Panda "City" for 25€/day for 6 days... And it worked very good!!!

Villa Notos: Villa Notos – Upscale Studios and Apts. in Adamas

Villa Notos is an upscale establishment of spacious studios on the western part of Adamas. Built in 2000, it consists of 6, carefully-appointed, traditionally-styled studios and apartments, some of which feature beautiful views of the bay of Milos from their spacious verandas. All units include queen-size beds, kitchenettes and of course, private bathrooms, and can accommodate 2-4 guests or more.

Depending on season, Villa Notos studios can be booked for as low as €61. Breakfast is not included, but two options for breakfast are available. Daily maid service is provided.

Villa Notos is a stone's throw from Lagada beach and within comfortable walking distance from the Adamas village center. Yiannis Anestis, the proprietor, and his family, reside on location and are very meticulous in taking care of their units as well as the guests. Villa Notos consistently garners excellent reviews in internet forums by satisfied guests worldwide.

Artemis Bungalows are located at the most convenient spot in Paliochori, right on the best beach of Milos, Paliochori beach. It features twenty-three double room "bungalows" with a view to the sea, just about 50 m. away from the crystal-clear water. The bus stop is 30 m. away, and their own, Artemis fish tavern with a magnificent, elevated view of Paliochori beach is just 20 m. away.

The rates for a double room at Artemis Bungalows are 70 Euros in July/August and 50 Euros the remainder of the season. Breakfast is not included, but can be ordered at the adjacent Artemis Fishtavern daily at 5 Euros/person.


Unique Quality: Without a doubt, the main advantage of Artemis Bungalows is its privileged location in Paliochori, widely regarded as the best beach of Milos. It is located on a dead-end road, meaning no thoroughfare traffic. Its own Artemis fishtavern offers fresh fish almost daily as well as a spectacular, elevated view of Paliochori beach, a few yards from the waves.

Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos: A logical choice for a hotel in Adamas, Milos

Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos

Judging by its name alone, Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos (Venus de Milo) seems to be the logical hotel choice in the island of Aphrodite (Venus). Located on the quieter, west side of Adamas, the port of Milos, the hotel is within comfortable walking distance from the port and the village center.

While it is a "hotel class" establishment, Aphrodite offers no breakfast, swimming pool, or room service. All units include fully-equipped kitchens and private bathrooms with tubs, however, making it ideal for families or couples who wish to prepare their own meals and save money in the process.

There are one-bedroom and 2-bedroom units. All are fully air-conditioned and include color TVs. Each unit on the top 2 floors has its own private balcony, while the ground floor units include a patio. Free guest parking is available nearby, very useful during the busy summer months when parking space is scarce in Adamas. Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos does not have a direct sea view, but Lagada beach is only 100 m. away, visible from the corner units on the top floors.

The proprietor, Nikolas Mathioudakis, is very courteous and accommodating to his guests. With prior arrangement, he will pick you up from the port in his hotel shuttle, even though the Hotel is within walking distance, and upon arrival, he provides guests with a map of the island and a brief orientation. He is eager to take care of every little detail concerning your stay.

Rates vary substantially depending on season, from 35 Euros for a one-bedroom unit with kitchen during the low season, to 140 Euros for a 2-bedroom apartment from the beginning to the middle of August.

For guests who do not require a kitchen and do not mind staying an additional 100 m. further away from the beach, Nikolas has available the rooms for rent "Katerina" 100 m. away from Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos, for less.




Unique Quality:  
Pros:
- Fully-equipped kitchens, clean, spacious units
- Alternative, low-cost rooms available
- Quiet part of Adamas, the main village of Milos
- Proximity to the beach
- Free guest parking
- Cordial, courteous host

Cons:
- No room service - just maid service every 2 days
- Unattended in late evening and during the night (but emergency mobile phone available)
- Not built according to the Cycladic architecture


Even though my own house is a few hundred feet away from Hotel Apartments Aphrodite of Milos, I have a personal experience having stayed at both the Hotel and Katerina rooms myself, several times. I recommend Aphrodite of Milos to and have taken there friends and relatives who visit the island, and have only heard or read positive comments about the hotel.
