Gorgeous Greek Islands
by abckidz
I was in Mykonos last year with a good friend of mine and we had a great time. One great aspect of the Greek Islands is that you can only be around large groups of people when you choose to be. Mykonos is definitely one of, if not the most popular Greek Island (or so it seemed last year), and so there were many younger kids on vacation as well. If you chose to go to bars/clubs/etc. you'll have a great time, but there are also less popular nightspots and beaches on Mykonos where you can just relax all day and not be bothered.
I can't speak for the accommodation because we booked it before we arrived in Athens, but there certainly seemed to be rooms available at the various hostels and hotels we saw around the islands.
To be honest I think maybe two or three nights is all you need in Mykonos. Last year we also went to Santorini which is completely different than Mykonos. It's much more quiet and relaxed, has a much more mature crowd, and is much more beautiful as well. There are a lot of couples on the island so it can be very romantic, and if you venture to the top of the island it provides some incredible views and sunsets.
On both Mykonos and Santorini transportation was pretty easy to figure out - but we decided to check with the front desk at our hotel, and with their knowledge it was a breeze. There are buses on both islands that are cheap and efficient, as well as moped and 4x4 rentals which can spice things up a bit and add a sense of adventure to your trip.
Cozy, fun & chill all in one...

Inside it's small, so if the weather isn't warm than it can get packed, which isn't so bad all the time. ;) The DJ's here played different moods of music on different nites. It's got soft lighting and the interior makes it feel "Greek/Med/Beach/Lounger" bar.
Outside it's the "See and be Seen" crowd, but at the minimal level. It's a chill out area.
The bathroom here is small and right next to the small side entrance.
Choose between Amstel and Carib here. 4-5euros. Presentable.
All Day Entertainment

If you plan on going to Paradise Beach, plan to stay the day and night. There are many beach parties that go on during the day that trail into the night. Most people do come to the beach later in the day to catch a couple of hours of sun to look beautifully tanned for the parties at night. Just walk up and down the beach and there's always something to do.

The Stoivadeion is a rectangular platform to the NW of the Sanctuary, containing a statue of Dionysos flanked by two actors impersonating Paposilenoi (now in the Museum). On either side of the platform, a pillar supports a huge phallus, the symbol of Dionysos. The southern pillar, which is decorated with relief scenes from the Dionysiac circle, was erected in ca. 300 B.C. by a Delian named Karystios in order to celebrate a victorious theatrical performance sponsored by him.

"Mykonos - One Of The Cyclades"
A Greek Island that is a must to visit if you are ever in that area
is Mykonos, or Myconos.
It is one of the Cyclades, a group of islands of the Aegean Sea,
lying between Tinos, Siros, Paros and Naxos. It is made mostly
of granite and has little water. The largest town is Mykonos, also
known as Hora, on the west coast.

"White Washed Walls"
Many Greek and international celebrities have
summer residences in Mykonos and can often
be seen walking the charming white washed
walls or having dinner at a small street side
table of a local taverna.
