'Ano Mera' the unknown capital of Mykonos
by thanalik
AnoMera is the capital of Mykonos. It is right in the middle of the island,so this helped all these years to stay out away of overcrowded.Last few years things changed and that is because people who own vacation homes in the island, needed a place not so noisy to get there for dinning.
Thats how all happent. Now in AnoMera's big square, across the old monastery of Panagia Tourliani, you 'll find a number of beautiful taverns.Choose the one you like more and get in.
Is perfect to spend an afternoom, mainly if you go swimming on SE beaches of the island.
Also ask someone to get you to Paradosiako Kafenio (traditional cafe). Ask them a greek coffee (elliniko), or a frape coffee and taste as many different sweets as you can. Homemade and absolutely gorgeous...
Where and What to Eat in Mykonos !
by Pakistaniguy about El Greco
A nice and clean restaurant if you are a Sea Food Lover &U&I. Though it is very difficult to find local seafood in Mykonos because most of the Sea food which comes here is imported from Asia ! but this restaurants has got fresh items and they give Sea food per Kilo rates. They offer many dishes but my favourite was Zucchini - stuffed with Mykonos cheese and Fennel and Sofrito (Corfu style veal with parsley, garlic and vinegar).
Petros the Pelican...
by mindcrime
Ok, here we are, Petros is the legendary pelican of Mykonos! The first one has died many years before but the locals always bring another one to replace every time and for some strange reason they call it Petros again! At my last visit (last April) I saw 4 of them! Don’t worry where to find the pelican, Petros strolls day and night around the alleys of Chora.
The excessive island

"Love at first sight"
Seeing Mykonos for the first time it's always like falling in love. I saw it on cruise first, then decided to make it as first stop of hour honeymoon. The second time we found it a little more disappointing even if we have to admit that Mykonos is an island one must see once in his life!!!
"Don't forget history!"
even if most people go to this trasgressive island to have fun, sea, sun and a lot of nightlife it's very rich in culture, history, museums and archaeological sites. We preferred exploring this "dark side" of the island and were simply marveled at the lot of things we saw and learned!
"The cycladic town for antonomasia"
You fall in love with Mykonos for its being so clean, perfect, white, like it was made of Lego bricks. Even if you don't love nightlife you can always taste the beauty of the narrow white and blue street in Mykonos with all the jeweleries, clothes shops, cafès and so on.... And at every corner you will admire the colored casings of al the houses or the far sight of the many windmills....
