Questions!

by venice2009

Could someone help with these questions.
We are arriving via cruise ship and have 7:00am till 2:00pm.

1. How far away is Paradise Beach or Super Paradise Beach?
2. How do we get to Paradise Beach or Super Paradise Beach from where the cruise ship will dock (Princess Cruise Line)? Walk? Bus? Taxi? Water Taxi? How much?
3. Is there a scooter rental shop near where the ship docks? If so, how do I get there and do you know how much a scooter rental will cost?
4. Is it safe to scooter around Mykonos?
5. Where would be the best place to have a bite to eat for lunch (authentic with a view?)?

mykonos is the best place ever!!!

1&2: its just around the corner... you can take a boat from paradise beach & I think its only 4 or 5 euros...

scooters... it depends... there are heaps of drunk people riding around.. so just be careful.. you can hire them all over the island.. and you can hire 4 wheelers also...

enjoy!!!

Not sure where the ship will drop you - new port or old. Safest way to paradise is to get a taxi. It's a 15 minute bus trip from town, but the bus station is a 20 minute or so walk from the old port... Yeah, go by taxi, don't know the fare, it will vary with where it's from. Prices are fixed from the town centre from where I think it's 7 euro. You can water taxi to other beaches from Paradise if you want to.
Authentic place to eat with a view - Sunset Taverna at Agios Ioannis, but that's not where you'll be... In town views are few and far between except on the harbour front. take your pick there, there's loads to choose from, but we liked RAYA.

Travel Tips for Mykonos

Getting to Super Paradise Beach

by yma123

buses run to paradise beach... which is good also.. but you need to go to Super Paradise beach... much more classy here...

to get here... you take the bus to paradise beach & then take the boat from paradise beach to SUPER paradise beach... this is better...

OR there is another alternative... which is to take the bus to another stop (sorry I forget the name) & then boat from there & its 4euro I think + your bus cost which is 1.20euro approx... too many to write... he he

Caprice Bar, Mykonos

by Aggeliki

Caprice Bar is located in the Little Venice section of Mykonos, it is right on the water and offers a pastoral setting either inside or on tables outside right over rushing waves. Its the best place to see the sunset from there.

Petros the Pelican

by al_mary

Meet Petros ......
You can look, follow around,
take all the pictures that you
want ... BUT don't touch.

Petros the Pelican is an old
celebrity of the town's waterfront,
Petro has been the official mascot
of Mykonos for many years.

Found after a storm in 1954 the pelican gave up its migrating
to become a local resident. After more than thirty years of making
the island his home, Petro eventually died.

The loss of such a personality was so deeply felt by both Mykonian
and tourist alike that a replacement was soon found and a tradition
established. Through the care and protection of the islanders, the
spirit of Petro lives on in his predecessor who continues to this day
to make his home on the island's waterfront.

Town of Hora

by kingfisher

Town Hora is a big maze...beware! In the daytime, it's a big shopping mall full of little and charatized shops; in the night time, it's a big club...music everywhere. Come on follow the music and dancing on the street with people.

Mykonos in October

"An island without tourists..."

Thanks to an low-fare offer, the German charter-airline Hapag Lloyd (www.flyhapag.com) has made at the end of the season, I got to greece for only 29 Euro. I stayed some days at Mykonos, and enjoyed a famous tourist-destination nearly without fellow holidaymakers...
