Mykonos weather in late November?

by ukrishna

I will be in Greece for a week in late November. I will be spending most of the time in and around Athens but also wanted to visit Mykonos.

Whats the weather generally like in Mykonos during late November?
I know that November is off-peak season... so is it worth visiting Mykonos during that time? (I know its subjective!!!)
Are the pubs/bars/hang out places open? Will there be any crowd in the off-peak season?

Any info is appreciated.

As is to be expected, the off-season crowds on Mykonos will be much smaller than during the summer months but there will still be some shops, restaurants and galleries open there, just not all of them. You can expect the weather to be sunny, chilly, partially cloudy and windy.

Of course I meant to include that there will also be some bars and clubs still open.

Due to extreme climatic changes the World is experiencing at the moment, trying to predict the weather can be difficult because of local, on the day variations.
Most places now are seeing weather conditions well outside the norm.
The information below should be used as a guide only.

Here is the average weather for Mykonos Town for this time of year.
Enjoy your holiday.

Travel Tips for Mykonos

by mtncorg

The Delian Alliance was effective in bringing about a Pax Athenia to the Aegean. The 'contributions', however, began to take the form of tributes, with time, leading to islandere resentment. Perikles, in 454 BC, in order to better 'protect' the Alliance's treasury, had it removed to the Athenian Acropolis. All the easier to spend it repairing damage from the Persian Wars and to beautify the city. Worse yet, following a harsh plaque that swept through Athens, the cause was determined to be the wrath of Apollo and a second purification of Delos was ordered. Old tombs were removed again, but this time a decree was made forbidding births and deaths on Delos. The pregnant and dying had to remove themselves to the neighboring islet of Rheniea. Relations were at a low, to be sure.

Near the three temples of Apollo is the Bull's Shrine, built by the Athenian tyrant Dimitrios the Beseiger. The shrine held an entire trireme, in honor of the sacred delegation ship of Athens - supoosedly the ship was the same one that brought Theseus back to Athens following his outing with the Minotaur in Crete.

no electricity!!!

by thanalik about kiki's tavern

The best well kept secret in Mykonos for food is Kiki's tavern in AgiosSostis beach. In a small terrace, covered by a huge tree and overlooking the Panormos bay, this place offer very a very tasteful small menu. Since there is no electricity, there is a selection of a lot salads, of different kinds and also there is a bbq providing meat and chicken fillets only. These come with a very tasty sauce and you also can order baked potatoes...
For sure is a very good place and really worth a visit...
Need of transportation to get there and also try to avoid on peak-period the times between 3.00pm to 5.00pm cos you are going to wait a lot!

'The Little Venice of Mykonos' is the tourist office moniker for these tall, pretty houses built right by the sea. Open-air cafes let you savor the sight - for the price of a coffee ('Metrios, parakalo') - with time to spare.

The one you love to hate!

Ha! I know many people in Greece that never been here and when I ask why they say:
1.it’s full of tourists
2.it’s extremely expensive
3.it’s full of gays!
4.it’s full of celebrities, posers etc
5.it’s just another dry island

Haha! It’s all true! So what? I have my reasons to give to visit this island:
1.I always go on spring and it’s great
2.Yes, it’s expensive but if you go off season and pay attention where you eat everything will be ok for your wallet
3.True, it is a popular gay destination! They feel more comfortable here, but it’s an island not a house. You can choose another beach, another club if you have problem with that. I always go with my girlfriend and don’t have any problem. We are at 2009, aren’t we?
4.Same as the above but they like to see and to be seen so they prefer high season! Avoid july, august and easter holidays and you’ll be fine.
5.it’s a beautiful island, with great architecture, a beautiful old town, nice sandy beaches (more than 30 I think), more than 1000 little chapels and the only way to visit Dilos island! Don’t forget to visit the Maritime museum (10:30-21:00) and the folklore museum (17:30-20:30)
