Kivotos is GREAT
by TripAdvisor Member ChristinaGreece
I spent 5 nights at the Hotel Kivotos in September, with my boyfriend.
The service and the hotels position on a small private beach are certainly of a 5 star standard.
We stayed at a superior room that was very nice decorated and the view was great too.
The breakfast was very rich and had also some Myconian specialities. This hotel seems not like a usual ‘grand’ hotel but more like a small exclusive hideaway. Maybe thatswhy the Hotel is bit expensive but in general Mykonos is very expensive but end of the day we have found that the value for money was good at Kivotos.
We would come back anytime and we really enjoyed the staying!
Kivotos is glorious as ever !

I recently returned to Kivotos ClubHotel and am delighted to report that the hotel is better than ever !
The pool is magnificent, the accommodations have been wonderfully upgraded and the staff is warm and welcoming and very attentive to guests requirements.
One of the highlights of my short visit was the extraordinary Sunday afternoon buffet / barbeque served by the lovely pool. It was truly one of the best meals I have ever had in Mykonos.
I highly recommend this hotel for a wonderfully relaxing stay in Mykonos. The setting is ideal and the service is superb.
What a wonderful experience, Kivotos turned out to be

I always read the travellers reviews on Tripadvisor before choosing my accommodation in each destination I wish to travel to. Since all my previous choices proved to be right, I feel obliged every time I have a good or bad experience in a hotel I stayed at, to write something about it here on Trip. So; my last experience was with a resort in the Mediterranean and particularly in Greece, on the island of Mykonos. Having heard so many different opinions about this island, part- island, beautiful beaches, always crowded, very cosmopolitan, I wasn’t a hundred percent sure of whether it would fit my own needs. So I decided to start looking up on the internet for any accommodation choices that were offered and maybe something might attract my interest and make me take my decision. Being not a fan of chain hotels, I was looking for an independent property but with a twist. That’s how I came across the website of Kivotos. Very nice design and very attractive pictures; You know what they say, that sometimes pictures give much more value to the product than it actually carries; well, in Kivotos example it was exactly the opposite. The actual product when you see it live, is ten times better than it’s pictures on line. What I really liked about this resort was that I felt private and unique. I felt that I was viewed as an individual and not as a pocket. It was like I was sharing my villa with friends; only that in my villa the pool is much smaller. Daily I was addressed with my last name from most of the hotel’s employees, something that really showed me that those people really focus on their customers. The other thing that really impressed me was that they were very flexible to my needs. They even accepted to play one of my music cds on the main pool’s cd player; give me one luxury hotel in the world that would do that! Congratulations to Kivotos for being independent and still be able to compete with the top hotels in the world in delivering good service to their guests. As an overall experience it was something unique and I will make sure that I visit the hotel again.
Outstanding hotel, a great getaway!

My wife and I were looking for a secluded place to relax. Kivotos was the best place for us. Beautiful hotel decorated with style, friendly staff (how nice to see the same faces each morning), unbelievable views to the sea and a villa-like feeling I have never encountered before. A truly Leading hotels member!
Highly recommend it!

We stayed at Kivotos for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it! As soon as we arrived, there was someone to greet us. Our bags were immediately taken from us to our room, and we were given some drinks while we were taken on a tour.
The pool is beautiful, with plenty of comfortable chairs available for the amount of guests that Kivotos holds. There is a beach if you choose to walk down some stairs. It is rocky, so just wear flip flops if you want to go in the water. We chose to be at the pool for the majority of our 4 night stay. There are small chilled towels given to you (it's super hot this time of year!) and unlimited towels brought to you as soon as you arrive.
I highly recommend renting a car during your stay. It is pricey but worth it. Unless you want to stay in town (which seems as if it would be noisy; and Kivotos was very quiet) things are pretty spread out in Mykonos. We were given excellent recommendations for lunch spots, especially the restaurants Kikis and Namos. The lunch and dinner at Kivotos are good, somewhat pricey, but we enjoyed breaking the day up and doing some driving around, so we ate most meals out.
Overall, the staff is extremely friendly and willing to help you with anything. In the event that we had any problems with our room, someone was promptly at our door within minutes to help. Breakfast had a nice buffet spread, with the option of ordering eggs if you choose.
We really enjoyed the first part of our honeymoon. The service was amazing and we definitely recommend this hotel.
lived up to all expectations

I decided to book this hotel thanks to the travellers’ reviews found here on Trip Advisor. I was looking for a relaxing place to stay, close to the city’s attractions but without the well-known hustle of Mykonos. What a delight Kivotos hotel turned out to be!
It is a beautiful hotel decorated and furnished with lots of attention and style. The hosts warmly welcome you and do all they can to make your stay as special as it can be. I should also mention that the front desk people were extremely cordial and helpful with any bookings to do or questions about other Mykonos locations and activities. If you are visiting Mykonos you could find no better place to stay. I loved it.
Disaster! Not as represented and not for teens!
by TripAdvisor Member WorldTravelor
Relying on the representations of our travel agent that this was a leading hotel on Mykonos, and its brochure advertising shuttle service to town and in room internet connections, I stayed there with my two 16 year olds during late July, at high season prices. It was an absolutely disaterous vacation! The "luxury" accommodations we were given were worse than a cheap motel...tiny room, hard beds, no seating, and a bathroom too small to even undress in. The highly touted bed linens were even tattered and torn on several occations. Worse was the isolation....no shuttle service to town, and no reasonable other way to access civilization, since there was no place to walk and no one knew about the public buses. This is not a facility for teens, nor active adults. When I inquired at the front desk about possible arrangement for excursions, as had also been advertised, I was met with blank stares, and promises someone would be getting back to me, which never occurred. The "private beach" turned out to be an expanse of about 10 by 40 feet of pebbles and cigarette butts, and was useless for swimming. The rooms do not have internet access, and the only place to find the internet is one functioning computer in a subterranean room several levels under an adjacent garage....if you can even find it. Though the food was adequate, the prices were excessive, especially for a captive audience. The first clue things would not be as anticipated was when we were greeted by the most arrogant, obnoxious young woman who immediately took us on a blitz tour or the facility...while we still were carrying our hand luggage and were traipsing up and down steep, railless stone stairways. Our last stop was at our room, by which time we were breathless, both from the exertion of the tour, and the squallor of the room.
On the plus side, the outdoor facilities are lovely, and many of the rest of the staff were gracious and most accommodating. This hotel might be acceptable If one were seeking a quiet escape, and one were provided a decent room, some of which are available, but NOT if one is there with teens who seek excitement and activities and access to the rest of what we have been assured is a lovely island. When one has been expecting a luxurious, fun-filled Greek Island vacation, this is not the place to be, nor where one has happily spent nearly $6,000 US for a five day stay.
The Worst yet
by TripAdvisor Member goonie
This has got to be one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. They were building in the rooms below ours and all we heard the whole holiday was drilling. Apparently they do this every summer so if you are thinking of going to this hotel don"t bother. When we complained to the manager they said there was nothing they could do. They said they always build in summer because they are shut in winter. Duh! How about doing the building work in winter when there are no guests.
Some friends of ours stayed at the hotel after us and they had the same problem.
The food was second rate and the service at reception was poor.
According to the Small Luxury Hotels Of The World this is meant to be a first class hotel.
I travel all over the world and i have got to say that this is
THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN.
If i can just stop one person having a nightmare holiday at I DONT GIVATOS HOTEL then this will have been worth it.
Good luck
Ps you are better off having a holiday in kilburn.

Perfect, as always

This is the 3rd year that my wife and I have been going to this hotel, and it has never disappointed us. The hotel has all the amenities of a deluxe resort ranging from a SPA, 2 swimming pools, a gym and a private beach; but with the intimacy and personal attentions of a small boutique hotel.
The rooms and beds are of an excellent standard. Staff personnel are continuously available, yet discrete. What is more pleasant is that they remembered our special needs and requests that we have made the previous years, which makes a significant difference for us.
As a member of the Leading Small Hotels of the World, the hotel definitely maintains its super-deluxe standards.

Hey , i will go to Mykonos in Sept. Before i arrive, i also go another cities. So i cant exactly know when can i arrive in Mykonos. As a result , i think i cant make a reservation through some web site.
1. I wanna know if I find the hotel when i arrive , is it very expensive and not easy can find it ?
2. Is it more cheaper if book the hotel through internet ?
3. At last , any hotel which is not bad and convenient can recommend to me ? I just go there alone and i cant afford too expensive one. My budget is below EUR60 per night.
Many Thanks!! ^^

You should have no problems at all with hotels and if you are arriving by ferry there are always local hoteliers at the dock. I don't know about arriving by plane but there are several booking agencies in the tourist information offices in the town itself which can assist. As to price 60 euro will be easily enough. Enjoy.
