The weather 90% will be like late summer with 19-25c mostly sunny.Maybe some wind but thats all.Its possible even to swim.Main nightlife will take place only in city bars i believe great clubs, cavo paradiso and super paradise must be closed by then. You definetly find nightlife but not the August panic. And of course has to do with what kind of nightlife you like.

You can also try Syros island... there is always nightlife there all eyar round without the pricey Mykonos prices! You can do both islands no problem as they are very close to eachother with fantastic ferry connections.

Travel Tips for Mykonos

Friends of Animals

by chrissyalex

The island of Mykonos has a volunteer organization which strives to control the stray animal population through neutering, spaying and assisting with adoptions. There are donation jars for this organization in some shops.
It must be working to some degree because there didn't seem ( to me) to be as many strays ( especially dogs) as in other places.

The dog pictured on the left did not appear to me to be a stray. He seems rather chubby and a little long in the tooth! :-)

Caique - pronounced "kai - ee - kee"

by DrexelDragon

A pleasant way to get around the island's south beaches is by caique. They're small boats operated by old Mykonians.

The main jumping off point for the beaches is Platys Gialos. The fare (with return) to SuperP is 5euros. Ask what time the last caique pick up is from your beach!!!

And, you may get hit on by people of the same sex while on board. I saw this quite a bit, and Tavis was even a target of an Aussie "news anchor". Haha!

Paraportiani Church

by Jeannette1

This is the most popular and most photographed of the 400 churches on the whole island of Mykonos. What makes this church so unique is its construction which is an assymetrical conglomeration of 4 churches into one.
Notice the 4 different architectural styles mixing Byzantine, vernacular, traditional and western style.

Mosaics in Delos

by zindara

There are two beautiful mosaics in the houses in Delos.
The first one represents a dolphin (located in the House of Dolphins). The dolphin was the symbol of Apollo. The panther was the symbol of Dionysus.
The mosaic of the panther is not very good preserved (but the better it can be if you think it is not covered even by a roof...).
It is located in the House of Dionysus.

Mykonos

"Pitch White!"

Mykonos is one of the most popular Greek islands during the summer, but when we were there, we had the whole island to ourselves, it was amazing. The town architecture and color scheme doesn't seem real and the island is perfect for renting scooters and exploring the many winding roads that weave across it.

The locals on Mykonos usually leave during the summer because the island population increases like 300% with the influx of tourists. While we were there however, most of them were just going about their day to day business and were increadibly hospitable.

Mykonos should definitely be a stop on your Greek intinerary!

"Fun with Scoots!"

Scooters are a great and relatively inexpensive way to really see the islands. Plus they're loads of fun! Our winter rates were about 10 Euro per day (24hrs).

"Mykonos is Bad Ass!"
