Shirley Valentine moment
I will be in Mykonos staying at Hotel Adonis in October and I want a Shirley Valentine moment. I've found on the net that the sunset was on Agios Ioannis, 5km from Mykonos Town. Can anyone tell me if there is a bus please. I'm on my own so don't want to pay for a taxi, unless it's real cheap. Also any information about bussing around the Island in general.

It was called the sunset taverna before and you can get buses to Agia Ioannis 400 yds up from your hotel. You will have to ask the driver to let you down at the top of the hill down to shirleys or you will miss it. To be honest you are better getting a taxi from the same terminal but may have trouble getting one back so check the bus timetable to come back.
Buses to Ornos/Plati Yialos/Paranga & Paradise beaches go from the south terminal which is just up the road from you.
The other terminal is on the road to the old port in town and goes to San Stephanos/Ano Mera & Elia. Plati Yialos is where the boats go to the other beaches and buses are very frequent and were 1 euro each way.

The seajet2 leaves from Rafina to Tinos and Mykonos twice a day. The trip to Mykonos is a little over two hours in duration. Cost is 46 euro (2009) and tickets can be purchased at the booking office across the street from the harbour. There is no need except maybe in high season to book in advance.
Sunbath on the beach
The best day time program on the island is to find a beach you like and lie on the beach doing nothing just enjoy the sun, nice sea and great view active music. What a wonderful life.....100% relax. :)
There are nice beaches everywhere on the island, with/withour bar or music. Nomatter who you are...you'll find your favorite beach to stay.
The Chora of Mykonos
The capital, Hora, is a typical sample of cycladic architecture, It is built in a flat area, in front of the colourful harbour. White small streets, white cycladic houses, wooden walls and colourful balconies with flowers compose the scenery of Mykonos town.
