Petasos Beach Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member leonardmiragliuolo

We have been staying at the Petasos Beach Hotel every year in June for the past 7 years....Perfect is the only word to describe the property, the staff, the service, and the atmosphere. The facility is upgraded every couple of years and has just now gone through another incredible rennovation. Everyone from the manager, Mr. Daktilidis, to the front desk personnel does an awesome job. Its location is ideal...right on the beach and yet it is convenient to town. One could not ask for a better choice of hotel while enjoying the beauty of Mykonos.
Bravo, Petasos Beach Hotel.
I have already booked for next year.

Petasos Beach Hotel was beautiful!

by TripAdvisor Member LoveEurope

We were a group of 3 girls looking to relax and enjoy Mykonos.

The location of the hotel is right in the middle of everything: beach right in front of hotel, little mini marts for last minute needs within a minutes walk, and a bus stop 10 feet from hotel door entry area to take you to other parts of the island.

The people at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms are clean and the air condition was cold. There is a spa for massages and facials on the property. I didn't go, but my other 2 friends did and they had loved it!

There are 2 restaurants on the property. We ate at only one (sorry, forgot the name, but the fancier one) and the food was superb. Not to mention, the view of the water during dinner was amazing!

The ambience is just wonderful. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous Resort in Mykonos

by ChristinaGH about Petasos Beach Resort and Spa

Another great hotel... new, clean, right on the beach, great restaurants within walking distance. Spa on the premises, very helpful staff. Every room has a small outdoor patio. The continental breakfast is great and is included in the price of your room, but if you eat at the restaurant for other meals, it is a bit overpriced. I would recommended one of the little, outdoor tavernas on the beach. great seafood great pool, jacuzzi...everything in the room is brand new

A Wonderful Oasis

We stayed at the Petasos Beach Hotel from July 10-12 and absolutely loved it! We are two single women in our early forties and were supposed to arrive on July 9, but due to a missed connection did not arrive until the morning of July 10, very hot, tired, and hungry. When we arrived at the beautiful Petasos Beach Hotel it appeared as an oasis -- very friendly and helpful staff to great us, exceptionally clean, free internet, and a gorgeous room with lots of room for luggage, a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool and sea, and even a big tub in the center of the room. (Granted, we weren't there on a honeymoon so we used the tub for storing our wet swimsuits, but it was lovely nonetheless!) We arrived after the buffet breakfast had closed, but the hotel staff, seeing that we were tired and hungry, arranged for us to partake in the buffet. The breakfast buffet is included in the price and was much better than any other I had in Greece (Santorini and Athens) and had a lovely view. Even though we were in single beds, we did not find them overly small or uncomfortable. Great location for the main beach or taking the bus to town. We spent our first day at the pool and main beach, and then the second day "beach hopped" at every beach via the bus. We have traveled all over the world and have stayed at 5-start resorts and some places that were dumps that were advertised as first rate. This place is great by either American or European standards. We highly recommend it.

We stayed in the Petasos Beach for 4 nights in August 2005. We had booked originally the Petasos Bay, which shares the same facilities of the complex but then with cheaper rooms. As a room of the Petasos Beach was free when we arrived, we got one of sea view rooms for the first night.

The location of the hotel is excellent: you are 1 minute from a very nice beach, 50 seconds from the taxi boat that takes you to other beaches such as Paradise and Super Paradise and 10 seconds from the bus stop that takes you to the village.

Staff is friendly, facitilies are good and the breakfast is as expected. There is a smaller pool with sweet water that's perfect if you want more privacy. In the larger pool, a watch out is the salty water: our eyes got irritated every time we went for a swim. I guess it would be much more comfortable to have a "normal" pool.

There is not so much difference between the rooms of the Petasos Beach and the Petasos Bay. In the Petasos Bay you miss the view, of course. But then again, you also pay less... There were two minor problems with the maintainance of our room in the Petasos Bay: one of the lights did not work and the little window of the bathroom had a broken lock.

I would definitely stay in the Petasos (Bay or Beach) again.

Great Hotel but watch who you book with

by TripAdvisor Member Hohols

We stayed at the Petasos Beach in June 2005 and I can honestly say it's one of the best holidays we've had. Set in a quiet location near to a great beach and several lovely restaurants. A really relaxing holiday - perhaps not great if you don't want to drive anywhere or love sight seeing as there's not a lot there - perfect for what we wanted.

The people are really frienly and if you want more nightlife Mykonos Town is only a 10 minute taxi/bus drive and the bus stops right outside the hotel.

The hotel is quite modern and feels clean and fresh - don't believe that every room has a sea view though - only if you're looking through the trees and across several buildings from our room and anything closer to the sea would have been over the pool and less private.

Breakfast was brilliant - you sit outside looking into the bay with full waitress service and loads of choice - we were treated like kings.

We booked through Libra and wouldn't ever want to travel with them again. The rep met us at the airport, directed us to the hotel mini bus driver and said she'd be in touch for a welcome meeting. That's the last time we saw her. We then ended up negotiating with the hotel for return transport and Libra would not respond to either our nor the hotels phone calls (they'd even changed their number but not advised the hotel). After a few calls to British Libra offices we had no joy but luckily sorted it ourselves. Not the service you expect from a tour operator.

Terrific Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member chucklicht

The hotel is a bit out of town but we had a car rented from the airport and finally found the hotel. Mykonos can be daunting at first with its narrow roads and many, many inlets.

The hotel was a delight. A nice big clean room with a view of the sea. The dining room was lovely, open-air with a view of the cove and anchored yachts. The breakfasts were very good and dinners even better.

The hotel satff was extraordinarily nice - friendly, outgoing and extremely helpful.

Nice Hotel

Petassos Hotel has a good location a beach right next door and another within 5 minute walk. The room we had was modern, clean but not huge. Bathroom are very up to date with a shower and jacuzzi hot tub. Hotel is very nice with a good size pool overlooking the water. Food at the hotel is not great better off going into Mykonos town by the bus, costs 1 euro each way and leaves every 30 min, cheaper and better than cabs as they are hard to get at times. Computer in lobby with high speed internet. I recommend this hotel. Staff is very helpful. Just ask for a bigger room. My only complaint was water temp in bathroom would go from hot to cold very quickly.

Great restaurants:
Sea Satin right on the water huge portions
Katrin side street of town amazing food

The best hotel we ever experienced

by TripAdvisor Member doma135

This hotel is amazing. The room was large and beautiful. Our room had an ocean view that was spectacular. The hotel is perfectly clean, the location is the best in Mykonos and the staff is wonderful. It is a few steps to the nicest beach on the island. We took the boats to other beaches but none were as nice as the beach next to the hotel. The pool is in a perfect ocean view setting as is the dining room. Breakfast was included and also top shelf. There are some nice restaurants right on the beach. Our favorite was the last one on the beach. I wish I remembered the name but you walk down the beach and it is the furtherst from the hotel, but it is still close. We went into the kitchen and picked out a sea bass. They grilled it and it was special. The service was also quite good. You can't go wrong in any restaurant there. We also took the bus into town that is right in front of the hotel. It is so inexpensive, like 1 or 2 euros and worth checking out. Go to little venice for a sunset. We also found a tiny restaurant that was amazing. It was Cornellas. It is hard to find but very good. Can you tell we loved it in Mykonos? Just stay at this hotel if you go.

Very satisfied with this hotel during our Honeymoon.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights after spending 4 nights in Santorini. We wanted to spend our time in Mykonos to relax at the beach, at the pool and in a nice hotel. We paid 171 euro per night. I booked directly with the hotel by email/fax.

The staff hotel was very nice, curteous, and pleasant. The entry was very chic and nicely decorated.

We had booked a Standard Double room (Queen size bed & sea view). We were very pleased with the view, the room was spacious and the bathroom included all of the ameneties expected. The beds were a little hard and not very comfortable (comparable to every bed we had during this trip). The room included a safe.

The room had two beautiful salt water pools (the main one and a second at the other end). We used the smaller pool which had fewer swimmers. They provided pool/beach towels.

They had a shuttle for pickup/dropoff at the ferry or the airport. There was a computer with internet access for guest use (usually with a waiting line of 0-2 people). We visited the newly open spa within the hotel and booked a couple massage session. The two masseuses were not of the same calibre, so I really enjoyed mine but my husbands was soso.

There was a convenient bus at the door of the hotel to go to town (1 euro/person). We took that everynight to go out to dinner.

The Plati Gialos beach was footsteps away from the hotel. There was several nice restaurants and chair/umbrella rentals. The taxi-boat to other beaches was there too. We spent one day at Super Paradise but would have prefered to stay at Plati Gialos (Platy Yialo).

The first week of September was a great time to visit. There were no crowds and the weather was beautiful.

I would stay at this hotel again.

We had to alter our schedule for the days we are staying on Mykonos because of the ferry schedule and now the Petasos Beach Hotel is full the other days we need to stay.

Can someone recommend a hotel on the beach that is comparable to this hotel with a nice pool, nice view and close to the Super Paradise Beach Ferry? I know the Petasos Beach was only one minute away.

Cost is not a concern. Please help!!!

Have a look at the Kamari it's just up the hill from Plati Yialos beach and the bus stop but it doesn't have the view.
Otherwise this is a good site
