Swimming Pool of Royal Myconian Hotel by wadekorzan I guess if you are reading this, you are trying to decide where to stay on Mykonos, right? Well, first, I think alot of people stay in Mykonos Town and then go out to the beaches during the day. We did it the other way around--we stayed at the beach and went to Mykonos Town in the evenings. The most important thing to know about this hotel is that it is at Elia beach, which doesn't look far on the map, but, it is a bit further than you might think. There is a free shuttle to and from Mykonos Town, but the shuttle times are VERY limited and if you rely on the shuttle, you may very well feel trapped--we did feel that way--so we rented a car and this is definitely the way to go. During the day, we used the car to go to a different beach each day and then usually went to Mykonos Town in the evening. The hotel advertises as a "Leading Hotel of the World", but I would say it is far from that. The hotel is "ok". Sea view rooms usually have some sort of thing blocking part of the view, breakfast is far from exciting, waiters for breakfast are mostly not too friendly... I don't want to be too negative about the hotel, but I wouldn't personally stay here again, I would stay probably nearer to Mykonos Town or maybe in Ornos.
