RE: Mykonos to Santorini

by Ouzone

It is easy enough in the high season about 2x/day and also you can go via Paros 1x/day ish. This route is overly popular with people from the US, so get your tickets early.

Out of season you may well have to go back to Piraeus and out again.(These two islands are on different ferry routes).

Travel Tips for Mykonos

Supplies are Expenisve here, so pack wisely

by piccolita

Something not too bulky, like a duffel or a small luggage with rollers Bikinis, Cover ups, Shorts, Tank Tops, Sunglasses (Big Jackie O type a must there), Comfy but nice looking flip flops/sandals, Light Sweater for evening, Something slightly dressier for dinner and night out. I was surprised that people were so dressed and seem to even bring a whole caboodle of accesories Sun Block/Bronzer, After Sun, Moisturizer, Lip Balm, Hair Conditioner and of course shampoo, Hair Mask (if your hair dries out quickly)

Its all great !

by doogieforever about Avra Restaurant-garden

Avra's food is simply delicious ! We ate there several times on our trip because every dish we had was amazing. They have lots of traditional dishes and also dishes from around the world. The garden was so charming covered over with vineleaves and the music created the perfect ambience. the staff were also lovely and friendly and made us feel like family. The salads...the dressing is to die for. The thai curry and the pepper steak and and and....all delicious !

Mills from the Sea

by zindara

If you take a boat/ferry to arrive/departure/tour etc. from/to Mykonos, don`t miss the view of the mills from the Sea.
From some streets in the village you will have a beautiful view of them, but the best one is going a little bit further from the coast...

ANOTHER TYPE OF DREAM

by parsix

I found all sort of people and characters in this island. You often hear how popular greek islands are for WEEDINGS. In my trip to Santorini I witness a traditional local weeding. But like I said, Mikonos is sophisticated, and this is how they do it here!

Scenery around the island

by goglobe

"chat with a cat"

Out and about on the island are all sorts of nice cats

"seafood everywhere"

No, it's not food for the feline friend above. It's so common you find plenty of seafood restaurants with all sorts of fresh catch from the surrounding sea

"That blue and white motif again"

Mykonos Island is nicely decorated with narrow streets with white and blue houses all around

"Simply blue"

Just a casual shot and you find shops and buidings with whitewash and blue doors and windows. No, not deliberate, but traditional

"nice walks"

Walking down the narrow patterned paths on the streets in the island is just leisurely, because shops of various sorts have a lot of attractions suiting various tastes.

"fine place to stay"

There are numerous quaint and attractive small hotels on the island. Here's one of them, with lovely designs in white motif.

"bell towers"

On the island it's so easy to come across the unique bell arrays on top of tiny church or temple buildings. I wonder if they are just for decor purposes, as they will only have tinkling sounds compared to real church bells.

"Sunset on the cruise"

I'm off to Santorini by ferry from Mykonos now, while watching some breathtaking sunset scenes. Memorable.
