SUNSCREEN
by DrexelDragon
The price for sunscreen and after-sun products is off the charts in the Hora. I ended up biting the bullet and shelling out 22euros, which was the cheapest I could find, for SPF 25 and Aloe Gel. Also, if you are coming from Athens to Mykonos, you will find the same prices around the Plaka. Bring sunscreen with you from home!!!!
Watch out for the Pelicans!
by sweetbean about Nikos Taverna
Nikos Taverna was our favorite place to eat in Mykonos town. It's a casual, open place that's close to the pier (but not close enough so that it smells bad). The food was great, the prices were very reasonable and the service was prompt and friendly. It's a very popular place, so their might be a wait to get seating during peak tourist season. Watch out for the pelicans! They're the mascot of Mykonos, and several of them like to perch right near Nikos. Sometimes they just stroll right through the outside seating (as seen in the attached photo). Nikos is also great for people watching. They have wonderful mousakka and baklava. I also had a very tastey swordfish entree. Traditional Greek salads are always great too. Their wine selection was nice, and they had good coffee. The menu was pretty extensive.
"Little Venice"
by Aggeliki
"Little Venice" is a place which is situated near the center of capital town of Mykonos called ''CHORA''. The view of the ''Little Venice'' is amazing, colourful and traditional houses have an excellent view with the balcony's that hang over the sea. In late afternoon the privileged view of the marvelous sunset in the specific area attracts visitors from all over the island.
Gem of the Cyclades, Mykonos

"Step Into Another World"
Mykonos distinguishes it self from the other islands due to its topography and location. The whitewashed stone and granite structures glisten in the sunlight. Although we arrive at a very windy day, it was still a sight to behold.
We meander through the narrow alleys and winding and steep hilly part of the town where around 9000 locals live according to Wikipedia.
It is now well known for its nightlife, that's why we had an overnight stopover there. However, we sadly did not try any of thr night clubs but it was enough for us to enjoy our time there due to the charming shops selling all sorts of goods, food, and the restaurants are indeed authentically Greek richly decorated with lovely trees and shrubs and colourful flowers and other decorations.
Seafood which is abundant in the island are beautifully displayed in the front of restaurants - and they are mostly huge and looked really fresh!
It was a shame we just had lunch when we got there so there was no chance to sample the food. But we did bought a lot of soap made from olive oil, plus lots of souvenirss!
Mykonos

Mykonos makes you wonder at first how its possible for such a small island to cater for so so many people every year. Yes you feel that the ecosystem is on the edge , its arid , garbage is a problem since so many people consume things , but in the same time you can find your self in a perfect paradise like beach , waters are ultra clean and blue , the wind is clearing your senses , but you just wonder where do they hide all these *** tourists produce every year. The streets are not always clean , many pieces of land are full of garbage ...yet the final picture in your mind is that of mediteranean clarity ...
