Hotel Jason: Hotel Jason
Hotel Jason, good basic studio, used by a Bristish tour operator. Its situated on the road between Plati Yialos beach and Mykonoso town - virtually on top on the hill. Takes about 30 mins to walk into Mykonos one way, and 20 mins down to the beach the other way. A side path leads down to Ornos bay in about 20 mins - so its a good for walking TO these places but suggest a bus/taxi BACK! Taxi from Mykonos was about 4.50 euro.
Accomodation good basic std for greek studio. Smallish wardrobe, kettle and toaster and two ring hob job. Only used for breakfast as this was a bit steep at 12 euros each in the hotel. Nioce littel pool area with sunbeds if you don't want to go to the beach. Supermarket, fruit shop and cople of tavernas within few mins walking distance so don't have to trek into town to eat.
Plati Yialos is a nice beach rsort - not huge but sunbeds are free if you eat in restaurant assoc. with it. Mykonoso is a lovely place to wander and its really buzzing at night - loads of places to eat, not all expensive. Sunsets were beautiful. In all we had a great holiday here.
We used Hotel Jason as a good base, had a car for 2 days (hired from first car rental just down road towards Plati Yialos, 50 euros for 2 days in low season). We did our own trip to Tinos and went to Delos by ferry. Plus we went off to Paros for 3 nights and from there went to Naxos.
So we saw a lot of things as well as enjoying the beaches and pool at Hotel Jason.
The weather in May was Ok - couple of mixed days but got much hotter our second week (end of May). Plenty warm enough for us and not too crowded. Public buses were running much later second week too - timetable was changing almost daily.

Kymata Rooms to Let: Best accomodations for the price
The proprietor picked us up at the dock as we got off the ferry, no extra charge. They were friendly and informative, giving us some tips on the way to our hostel. I found this place on a hostel website and made reservations online. We were really happy to find out that it was more of a condo type rental. It was located overlooking the bluff where the famous windmills are located, so out our balcony we could see the water and windmills. Yes, we had a balcony. One outside door led to a hall with separate room doors. The room had two beds and a separate bathroom. It was decorated very nicely and clean and well maintained. It was as nice if not nicer than many motels I have stayed in. We paid 120 euro for 3 nights double occupancy. I would recommend this to everyone and have. We will stay here every time we visit Mykonos. It is within walking distance to groceries, internet cafe, cafes, atv rentals etc.
Unique Quality: Great view, decor outstanding, well maintained, inexpensive

Hotel Tagoo: Great views, great pool, great hospitality!
What a find! We stumbled on this accidentally, and it was a really nice hotel. We had a great stay here and did not want to leave!
The hotel had a really nice sized pool, a bar area, meals area (you can order meals and sit by he pool all day/night), air conditioned rooms and a great view overlooking the sea.
It's about a 10 to 15 minute walk to Mykonos Town downhill, so the way back takes longer, but who cares? If you're lazier, hire a moped.
Unique Quality: Great hospitality! ;)

MARIA BALTA APARTMENTS: ANOTHER FAMILY MANAGEMENT
This modest (and nice) apartments are located at Agios Stefanos too. Built on the slope over the beach the view is a bonus, the people are extremely attentive and kind.
You can get the room with breakfast included, perhaps a bit far from the port, (when you should back here a bit drunk during the sunrise...) but nevertheless this location is calm and pleasant.
Comfy, ascetic, and clean. They have transportation from/to the port or the airport.
Unique Quality: Very clean, nice views (not from every rooms), and cheap!

KOUTSOUKOU ROOMS AND APARTMENTS: FAMILY BUSSINESS
We arrived to Mykonos coming from Santorini without any kind of reservations, just at the port a kind young girl offered us a room in downtown Mykonos at a (apparently after confirmed) very convenient price. "Why not" told me my wife. OK.
A family bussiness managed by this kind girl an her mother, the rooms were modests but clean and with excellent location, perhaps on a bit quite noisy pedestrian street.
Anyway, a right choice.
Unique Quality: Clean, well located, kind people.

Paradise Camping: Carry On Camping
The campsite is located on Paradise Beach. Two minutes walk from almost any spot on the campsite brings you to a beautiful sandy beach.
Unique Quality: There is a good restaurant and bar on the campsite. Prices are incredibly reasonable.
