we stayed at Hotel Anna in Sept 2005 for the 3rd time .We choose this place mainly because of the friendliness of the lady who runs the place ; Eleni is greek but she speaks Englih , French ( and more ) . They offer rooms in the main building and studios close by .
The rooms are airy and clean .
We ve decided to visit Naxos because it was the biggest and most fertile island ofCyclades and we could taste its own local products, vegetables fruits, meat.
We ve booked our apartment directly from the net because we had our two small children with us and we did not want to spend our valuable time witn no reason! The owner of the studios Margo picked us up from the port a young boy very kind and helpful and gave us a beautiful room fully furnished and very safe for the children ( this was the main reason that we book at that place from the beginning). It was a traditional built complex not to big and commercial but very hospitable and clean (it was cleaned by mother of the owner). Apart from this the sunset was great from the balkony and at nights you could see the stars on the sky and sa that this is a really Greek sky over the Aegean Sea. We stayed five days during our Eastern holidays and we were very satisfied as far as the prices and the service are concerned
Hotel Glaros is almost right on Agia Georgios. It's about 20 meters from the beach. It's a pretty basic hotel. The rooms are small, but they have a great view over the bay. The location is perfect for walking into Naxos Town. The hotel is clean, and the staff is great! Very friendly and helpful. Our rate was 44 Euros/night. Breakfast is included.
Breakfast is included, and there are 3 internet-ready computers downstairs.
We rented this flat thanks to some italian friends who live on the island. The owner didn't mind adding some beds when we arrived and joined our three friends. So we slept in six in a big room... but it was ok ! In the flat there were cooking facilities and a daily cleaning service.
You can access easily one of the most beautiful beaches on Naxos Island just by walking. There is also a smaller and desert beach nearby.
This was the view from the porch of our hotel room at Colosseo, showing the beach of St. George. We paid something like 25 or 30 Euros per night, which seems pretty amazing considering how close we were to the beach. I never saw any hotels on Naxos that were right on the beach. This was about as close as they got, but I'm certainly not complaining.
Colosseo is a small hotel with eight rooms just across the street from the beach at St. George. The location is great because it's far enough away from town that it's not loud, but still close enough that it's an easy walk. The room was quite large. Our only real complaints were that there wasn't good ventilation in the room because there were no windows other than the one on the door, so it was a bit musty. It was very inexpensive though, so we didn't complain much.
Victoria studios are situated in one of the most beautiful beaches of Naxos, Mikri Vigla. The 25 studios are A' class and thay have cuisine, private bathroom, and big balconies with view at the sea. They are ideal for family quiet vacation, and also for windsurfers, because sea is almost always windy.
In a high location in the town of Chora there are these studios, with very comfortable rooms and balconies with wonderful view at the Aegean sea and islands of Paros and Mykonos.
See my other accomodation tip for the hotel details. I just wanted to share this view of the pool area -- and one veeeeeery relaxed kitty cat!
Check out the cat on the wall, and tell me if you think this place can erase your cares . . .
We spent three nights at this beautiful, casual yet elegant, friendly hotel that opened in 1998. George, the owner, and Julie, the manager (I think) are both friendly, helpful, pleasant people who truly want everyone to be as comfortable as possible. The rooms are comfortable, the meals delicious, and George and Julie can help you with just about anything you might need (car rental, taxi, etc.). In case you forgot yours, the hotel lobby with its comfy couches has guidebooks and maps for you to look over.
I can't recommend Villa Marandi highly enough!
George, whose background is in computer consulting and engineering, told us he wanted to design a hotel based on what he and his employees would like to find when they went on vacation. He has done a fine job creating that, and I'm sure it will only get better as time passes. They have a small beach a stone's throw from the villas, an excellent restaurant where they feature local foods and wines, and a lovely pool/bar area. But perhaps the truly unique feature of Villa Marandi is its extended family of cats. They number about 35 now and while not exactly pets, niether are they the wild creatures you find elsewhere in Greece. We loved them all!
Nice room with a small kitchen a balcony and your own shower and restroom.
Quiet area and walking distance to the city beach just four minutes.
This hotel was so nice, and the location was great, about 150 meters from Ag. Georgis beach.
The pool here is just beautiful, and the views of the sunset is spectacular
After the disappointment with The Windmill we started searching for another acccommodation. We checked out a few and decided to move to Litza´s.
The room was probably three times bigger than the one at Windmill and the kitchen very well equipped. The bathroom was big and the room looked very neat.
The only con was that it was located at a kind of square and the next neighbour was a church so therefore a little disturbance.
Litza, the owner, was very nice and helpful. It was remarkable how much communication we could have despite here limited English knowledge. She even gave us some eggs for breakfast.
It was also a great fun to watch the cat familiy that lived in an abandoned shed right across the square.
The price was the same as at The Windmill, 20€ per night per room.
We got picked up at the harbour by a representative from The Windmill. We had had such a good luck in Paros by participating in the accommodation lottery that we decided to have a go again in Naxos.
Well we didn´t get as lucky this time around. The Windmill had the right price (20€) but that was about it. It is located in the south part of Hora, up from Agios Georgios beach. The room we got was tiny, to say the least. I didn´t even fit on the balcony, there was no way. Kitchen utensils were poor and no place you could sit down except on the bed. To find something positive the room was clean.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, at least not in June when there is a lot of better accommodation available for the same price.
We only stayed there for one night and found another accommodation for the other three nights.
I would recommend anyone not to choose accommodation at the touts by the harbour. A much better way is to leave your luggage at the travel agencies located by the harbour and walk around. There are plenty of nice accommodations available in June.
