Even more south...
Keeping going through the footpath (be careful when climbing!), you can finally enjoy this wonderful view of Oia-Foinikia. Armeni beach (as similar as Ammoudi) is in the background - on the right.

Armeni beach is one of three beaches in Oia. It is really small and it is difficult to get there. It is accessible only on foot but you need to face almost 300 steps! Hehe. Do not worry. You may always get a donkey taxi.:D
Armeni has a view to Thirassia and clear blue deep water. It is a rocky beach and it is not comfortable to rest there but you may hire a sunbed and enjoy. There is a bar downstairs and a port with ships going for example to Thirassia.
Katharos beach is not that popular like Armeni or Amoudi beach but, in my opinion, is the best beach in Oia. It is a little bit far from the centre but you may get there by car. In adittion, it has more place to sit than any other beach in Oia. It is rocky beach but all beaches in Oia are like that.:)
The biggest problem is that it is from the oter side of the island and it may be a little bit too windy, especially in August.
There are a few resteraunts below the main part of Oia at the fishing docks which offer great seafood. While the crowds gather up on the top of Oia to take in the sunset, one should not forget the beauty that lies in this area during the sunset. Old fishing boats bob in the emerald meditteranean sea as the sunset adds an array nof other colors to the mix. It is much more relaxed and crowded, and just as beautiful. I would take this into serious consideration. Enjoy some fresh seafood while you're at it. Just take the stairs down to the docks and hang out, it's a great spot
Oia's houses have been built deep into the volcanic soil. Oia is connected with Foinikia village (in the background), from where you can go by long steps down to Armeni beach.
