There is a tourist information centre in Oia. It is located on the same square where the bus stations is. So it is easy when you get from Fira just go till the end.

Beside the information about Oia and Santorini you may use Internet inside.

Walking path

Oia has one street. It is devided into two parts: one is just a road for cars and the second is a walking path (pedestrian street). You will see almost all Oia when walking along the pedestrain street and the view from this place is the best. The main pedestrian street connects its ends accross the top of the cliff, with many local branches. The most popular shops here are jewelery, cloths, restaurants and souvenirs.

Do not miss the end of the path with magnificent view of Santoini's sunset.

INCREDIBLE OIA! (EEEEE-YAAAA!)

no, that's not my inner cowboy coming out, that's just how you pronounce it.

and no, that's not a really realistic japanese flag, that's the greek flag in front of the majestic setting sun.

we are in oia, the town at the northern tip of santorini island where everybody - and i mean everybody on the island - goes to watch the sunset.

a better perspective of the oia sunset for your enjoyment.

they come from far and wide, from the surrounding islands as well, just to see this spectacle.

practically the whole island stands still during this time of day - except for a few of us vters, maybe, who are always busy taking photos and videos.

they perch themselves on every possible, well, perch.

cameras in tow, the sun worshippers wait with baited breath. when the light starts to turn orange, the shooting starts.

when the orange ball disappears under the horizon, they all disappear as well.

the regular buzz around the island resumes.

Volcano islands

"climb the Volcano island"

1hr 30 min climbing on the Volcano island in the sun...it was like walking in the dessert! but it was really cool :-) you can feel the ground is still hot...with smokes coming out...

"big wind by the way..."

it was windy by the way...my hat flowed away always as i can remember...:-)

"hot spring"

ok, after climbing the Volcano island, the boat carried us to a place where it is called Hot Spring. Boat parked for 30 min for people jumping into the sea. you need to swim there...i jumped into the sea but didn't swim that far!
