Hey,
I noticed some people mentioned that Oia was where the sisterhood was filmed. At the end of the movie the girls all jump off a rock. Does anyone know where it is? Is is also in Ammoudi? I live in Athens and a friend from Canada is visiting. She's really wanting to see it. Thanks!
Oia is at one end of the main island. Perhaps you should try reseaching a little harder. Have you checked anyone's Santorini pages out?

I've researched it and nobody seems to be able to answer this. I know the film was shot at Ammoudi. Just not where this specific rock is. I thought the locals might know. Won't know till we get there I suppose.
I was wondering this too, as I am traveling to Santorini later this month and would love to see the spot. Looking forward to seeing any responses you might get here.
Also, if anyone knows the location of the building used for Lena's grandparent's home, I'd be extremely grateful. The little bit of information I've been able to find seems to indicate its on the path down to Ammoudi. Does anyone know if this is correct, and if so, is it easy to spot on the stairs down? Not sure how many paths lead down to the harbour.

Santorini, one of the best known of the Cyclades, differs from the other islands. The landscape on the western side of the island, where towering cliffs crowned by tiny and blindingly-white houses plunge straight into the depths of the sea. The "caldera" rise 300 m. above the sea level.
You can see unforgettable views - nights when the clouds come out from the sea like a haze on a dark background of the sky full with shooting stars.
Seeing the volcano close up was really interesting - you don't appreciate just how black the lava is til its staring you in the face, especially the newest part from the 1956 eruption. We saw this from the boat trip. also the strata in the tocks has some amazing colours.
Santorini is home to a very sweet and tasty dessert wine called Vinsanto. Although I have seen it characterized as a white dessert wine, it is actually a rose or golden color. Typically it comes in bottles smaller than a standard wine bottle because it is stronger, more concentrated, and much sweeter than ordinary wine. It's a great way to finish a meal, especially if you're not up for a shot of ouzo.
Sea Kayaking tours out of Ammoudi are offered every day in the season. Check with your hotel reception or details below. The G.Argyros Travel Agency organises the logistics, pick-ups and transfers and books you on the tour.
There are half day trips as well as full day trips offered. Now in September they were ofering half-day only, and out of Ammoudi, ot Akrotiri as in the brochure.
Cost for a half day trip is E 35.00 All equipment was provided, and a leading kayak guide and a motor boat some distance away keeping any eye on things without being obtrusive.
Bring hat, water bottle, bathing gear, suncream.
The village of Prygos has many churches, around 33 all different and many with beautiful dazzling white bell towers. We were here on a Sunday and the big church in the centre of the village was full of locals enjoying coffee and cake after their service. The most famous one is the Monastery of Profitis Ilias,one the outskirts of the village, where a small collection of ethnographic material and old icons are exhibited.
