More about Akti Beach Club Hotel
We had a fantastic time at the Club Akti Hotel! The animation team were great, food was excellent and the pool was very clean! The beach was at the back of the hotel which was handy!
The entertainment during the day was absolutely fantastic! There was so much choice and i enoyed every minute of it!
Wasn't As Bad As Previous Reports Made Out
We recently returned from a week at The Club Akti Hotel. There were six of us in our party aged 49,47,31,27,6,1. We were a little dissapointed at our accomodation as it was a little basic. And my daughter was upset at her visitors ( we were on the ground floor, and were very prone to the local ants) But after a word with our Sunset Rep, she was moved.
The Restaurant was immaculate, table cloths being changed as soon as they became soiled. The waiters always looked smartly dressed, and were very polite, and couldn't do enough for you. The food was very varied, and plenty of choice. Then pool was cleaned regularly, and was spectacular at night. The entertainment could have been a little better. But the children enjoyed themselves. We all had a lovely time, apart from the Airtraffic Controllers Strike which we caught going and comming back.......Not great with young children.
best greece holiday
We have been to Kos three times at three different hotels and always enjoyed a good fun holiday.
The Club Akti however has to stand out as the best. The accomodation was spotless and ideally sized for a family of 4. The staff were friendly and the food was of the best standard so far.
The animation team were excellent and our children had a great time.
The pools are very clean - every morining they were cleaned by the pool man for over an hour and a half - I know this because our balcony overlooked the pool and I'am an early riser.
Water sports and the beach are a 2 min walk away and the hotel runs a free bus service into Kardemena throughout the day if you want a change of scene and to do some shopping.
All-in-all this is a great, well run hotel complex ideal for a family wanting a good all round all-inclusive holiday.

I wish I had seen this site before i booked!
I just wish that I had taken the time to research this hotel before we went . we were told 4* plus , my view is 2* . We were extremely disappointed , the club is being sold as a couples holiday , this is definately not the case , despite us going late Sep , there were children of all ages everywhere .
They were allowed to run amok by both the management and parents to the detriment of the other guests.
Some of the staff were jaded and surly , and the all inclusive was a joke . The food was only worthy of a school canteen , when the wine ran out at meal times it was not replenished.
What should have been a peaceful and relaxing time was noisy and stressful.
This is not what I paid for!!
Im 13 and i went with my family last Summer (Mid July).... I loved it there! There were soooo many activities (In the other hotel which was a few seconds away), UNLIMITED GREAT FOOD, and everyone was friendly. The only problem was that the water supply broke in the Atki Hotel one day so everyone ended up coming up to our hotel but i would seriously consider begging my parents to go back there next year!
We (myself and my husband) have just returned from a 2 week break at the above hotel. We arrived after a 5 hour delay due to a baggage handlers strike at Kos airport. On the eventual arrival at Kos airport we then had an almost 2 hour delay trying to find our baggage, 2 carousels onto which were put every incoming flight - I counted at least 5 after our arrival. We eventually got away to our hotel. All the rooms are on a 2 storey basis, we were allocated a room above the reception area - nice enough, bottled water in the fridge. We went down to have dinner, good variety but as is the way in Greece not very hot but there were 2 microwave ovens for the purpose of heating your food should you need it. We went into the lounge area, I have to say that the couches had seen better days, I wonder what they will be like at the end of the season? There seemed to be, and this carried on for the whole 2 weeks, ots of activity for children after dinner but not much in the way of entertainment for the adults. I think they played bingo, they had a group of young greek men who did stunts of strength, walking on glass carrying other men on their shoulders etc and later in the week a group of greek musicians. We were supposed to have the run of 3 sister hotels which included ours, but on 2 were open ours and the Kalemeira, we spent most of our evenings over there, there were less children absolutely no entertainment at all, but our card playing skills have improved greatly!
The holiday was on a fully inclusive basis and the data we received prior to the holiday stated that there would be food (and drink if you wanted it) from early morning until 23.30 in the evening, there was breakfast again a good selection, snacks at the pool bar which comprised of toasted sandwiches, ice-cream, and drinks ie soft drinks, alcohol, tea and coffee, which I felt was a very poor choice in fact the worst of any all inclusive I have ever been on. Once the pool bar closed at 18.00hr that was the end of snacks for the day, I do not eat suppers but I felt that for those who were there with small children who perhaps had been sleeping or not in the mood for dinner would have struggled to find food for their children, this was also a problem for them, due to the fact that the hotel was situated a good 45-60minute walk from Kardemena town. Overall we have had a nice restful break (we had to ask to move rooms due to a couple having a rather vicious domestic which started outside the hotel and continued in the reception area, this was done within minutes of asking), the snacks and the entertainment could perhaps be improved (the entertainment may well improve once the season gets into full swing)? The staff from gardener to Manager were excellent, the food provided a wide variety, nicely presented, the accomodation although basic was clean and quite comfortabe. Nice pool area, plenty of sunbeds with mattresses. I think perhaps a hotel for families with young children and the sister hotels - Kalameira and Mare for couples.
OK........for Families with Children
We have just returned for a week stay at the Akti, after staying there for a fortnight two years ago. We have to say that the Akti has gone down in standards...our room this time was damp, had ants in the bed (until some powder was put under the bed), the shower head had knowhere to hang it up and there was an electrical socket broken and bear wires showing right next to the shower....dangerous for young children.....luckily ours is 10 and was told under no circumstances to touch it....all of these problems we had not experienced before. The animation team this year again were worse than two years ago....not much "get up and go" and didn't really draw you into wanting to join in.
If anyone books into the Akti, do not have a room towards the beach, stick to near reception.....the smell of sewage is so strong towards the beach that your eyes really do sting!
However, all that said, for children it is a safe and fun environment....mainly due to the fact that the resort is out of town and enclosed and as there is a kid's club lots of families with children go there and so there are many friends to be made.
Our Best Family Holiday So Far !!!!!!
We have been back in England for a few days after a great 2 weeks and are missing Kos already.
The Akti 'Kalimera' Club was brillant and more than we hope for from previous reviews.
There was lots of activities for kids and adults alike, these ranged from - French Boules, Beach Volley Ball (Wear Trainers, Sand is very hot !!), Water Polo to Silly Games by the pool involving a lot of laughter !
Food was very good, wide variety of choice to suit all kinds of tastes (unless you are really, really fussy).
All staff were friendly and really helpful. The Animation team lead by a cheeky chap who looked the best in a dress on the ladies night. You were not forced into taking part in any of the games/shows/music quiz but were welcome to take part however bad you were at them.
A short walk from the hotel 2 min, if that there was a well looked after beach. The pedalos & canoes were free and great fun when not too windy.
Kardemena town can be reach by the free shuttle bus laid on by the hotel. Good deals can be made for trips around the island. We recommend the 'Princess Maria' boat trip booked through Harriet Travel, it was the best trip we went on. The 18-30 element comes out at night to go to the british pubs so would not recommend it for young families at night.
This hotel is definatley a family holiday resort with all the hoilday makers having a great time. Great place to meet new friends and far enough out of Kardemena Night Life !!
Hotel Very Nice, Food Disappointing
Arrived at this hotel on a Wednesday lunch time. Were shown straight to lunch which was much needed. Unfortunantly lunch was not great. Food was cold, although there were 2 microwaves to warm up your food once food is warmed up it is then dry and not very nice. There were about 6 or 7 different varieties for lunch, but what ever you had for lunch was usually what was for dinner.
Apart from the food, the hotel was very nice. It was clean and our rooms were cleaned everyday along with towels changed. There were 3 of us all sharing a room. Two single (one doubled up as a sofa) and one kingsize double bed. Rooms were lovely and big, and it was very nice to have a fridge and TV (although not many english stations).
The pool was very nice a big, with 2 smaller pools for the kids. It had adequate sunbeds which we never had to go down early for. Lots of unbrellas (maybe too many at times, as you could not put them down.
The beach was very nice, shingles rather than sand, but free sunbeds you could not moan. Watersports a bit expensive though.
If you plan on going in to Kardamena, it is a good 30 min walk, but the hotel does supply a bus service free of charge every hour, which we had no trouble getting on. Last bus from the town was about 11:30. If you get a cab it cost us 6.50 Euros which can work out expensive both ways.
Overall the hotel was nice, but food let it down alot. It would put me off going all inclusive again.
If you plan on going on any trips, i would recommed Paradise Beach. Although book away from the hotel as you get it half price. It was a wonderful beach and a lovely day.
excellent time mini bus poor
