Getting married in kos

by nalnac

I and my partner are thinking of getting married in Kos and was wandering if anybody would be able to recommend a specific hotel we are looking to go all inclusive as we have 3 children and we all know how much kids can eat and would also like to know more about the actual ceremony and what we could do for a reception we have roughly 10 family members travelling with us. We would also like to know about the paperwork involved and when would be the best time to go out there looking forward to seeing replies.
many thanks

Natalie

Hi Natalie!
I hope some day, marry on an island too!
I don't know why you two choose Kos - i guess you have your reasons! - so i found a site that will help you! http://www.ionianweddings.co.uk/wedding_of_the_month.asp

but i would suggest you to take a look to some other destinations...

I hope helping you!
I wish you the best for your wedding

Natalie i found the necessary documentation:
1.Copies of passports of the bride and groom.
2.Proof of eligibility for marriage for both bride and groom. (Divorce certificate if applicable or single status certificate)
3.Birth certificates for bride and groom along with proof of current address.
4.Application to marry signed by both parties

Translation into Greek and approval of the translation can be done by the Greek Consulate of your country.

bye

hi natalie, i have just booked to get married in kos, we are staying at the blue lagoon resort in kos town and getting married at the town hall, the wedding co-ordinator at the hotel sorts as much or as little as you want, we've booked all inclusive as we have 2 young children and there are 18 of us travelling so far, the travel agent has been really good just be careful you have to be in the country 8 days before you get married so you will need to go for 2 weeks and if any of the party are only going for 1 week they will have to go out for the second week, good luck, kelly

All english documents can be translated in Greece by a Greek Lawer.
Also in Greece you have to publish your wedding announcement in a newspaper.

Travel Tips for Kos

Palm tree avenue

by Helga67

Palm tree Avenue is the most beautiful street in Kos town. This avenue lined by huge palm trees brings you from the castle to the centre of town. There is a stone bridge that crosses over Palm tree Avenue from Platea Platanou (where Hipprocates plane tree is), over the former moat to the castle entrance.

Fantastic Crepes

by steventilly about Avanti

The desserts at Avanti are as wonderful as the main courses. This was a bailey's, chocolate & biscuit crepe and although on this occasion it was just for Wife, it was aomply big enough for two. On this occasion I had a waffle with apple & cinnamon, and it too was big enough for two. On our subsequent visit we just had a crepe to share.

The Church of Agia Paraskevi

by grayfo

The church of Agia Paraskevi is situated in the capital of Kos, dominating the heart of the town. The exterior is beautifully painted with beige and blue and its interior is richly decorated. On its feast day, many pilgrims from all over the island come into the church to honour Saint Paraskevi.

Temple

by steventilly

The temple of Dionysys stands just off Grigoriou, like the majority of Kos Town's excavations. This one sits just across the road from the Casa Romana so if you get to the latter and find it closed at least you can cross the street and see something.
The temple is one of the least impressive ruins of Kos Town but it's still worth a few minutes time.
