very lucky to have visited this wonderful place not once but twice.... first time back in 2000 and re visited June 2005. the place just doesnt alter the same wonderful peaceful friendly island i remember.
The huge benefit of visiting kos you can get around the island so easily ... bye pushbike is a very popluar way can be fun but make sure you wear something to protect yr head.. The best way i found to see the whole of the island was to hire a jeep for the day.
although if your staying near kos town this in itself holds many magical things to see and do from the lovely harbour filled with boats to shopping . Many photo opportunities from the museum in kos town to the lovely churches dotted about.
Well i have to say on both my visits to kos i was very lucky to stay in two lovely hotels... back in 2000 i stayed in the platinista rooms are clean comfy and of a very high standard if you upgrade to a superior room the jaccuzzi is brill .. The garden areas and pool are well laid out and plenty of sunbeds
In the summer of 2005 i went back to kos and stayed in the hotel kos imperial where the hotel boasts president clinton once stayed .. wow this is some hotel everything in this place oozzes style elgance and glitz... just one gripe the food maybe wasnt exactly what i expected from a hotel boasting five stars although the staff are real friendly and always eager to help . the layout of this hotel is behond belief ..seems to have everything set by the sea the many and varied pools have loads of sunbeds snack bars ..free beach towels. I would recomment both these hotels... Its cheap and easy to get into kos town via local bus or taxi both are pretty reasonable bus tickets u can get in kos town buy a strip of them works out cheaper although getting to kos town by taxi only costs 6 euros.
