Pack Light

I like these tops that you can get called "technical wear". They're lightweight, cool, dry, easy to wash & dry and some are made with anti-bacterial silver threads. One top can last you a few days. I have a few by Helly Hansen, Berghaus and Ronhill. Their light weight means you can bring back more wine on the return journey...
The Castle of the Ioannite Knights
by peterdhduncan
The Castle of the Ioannite (Order of Saint John) Knights dominates one side of Kos' harbour. There are good views over the town and harbour and along the coast from its battlements.
There was a small entry fee.

Eleftherios Square is the main square in Kos and this is where the archaeological museum of Kos can be found. We didn't visit - I'm not a big museum fan when there is so much on view outside in the town. However if you want to see various exhibits dating mainly from the archaic, Hellenistic and Roman times then this is place to go. Also on display are fine mosaics, ceramics, statues - such as one that is believed to represent Hippocrates, father of scientific medicine. The building itself is an italian art-deco building modeled after a Roman house. Open Tues-Sun, 8:30-3pm fee payable.

"KOS TOWN"
KOS TOWN IS A LIVELY RESORT AND IS PERFECT FOR SHOPPING, AS THERE ARE MANY TYPES OF SHOPS FROM THE USUAL TOURIST SHOPS TO THE MORE UP-MARKET CLOTHES SHOPS. THERE IS A SMALL INDOOR MARKET CLOSE TO THE HARBOUR SELLING HERBS,SPICES,OLIVE OIL,LOCALLY GROWN FRUIT AND VEG ETC. THE HARBOUR AT KOS TOWN IS REALLY BEAUTIFUL AND YOU CAN CATCH A BOAT FROM THERE TO GO TO NEARBY TURKEY FOR THE DAY.
