Quiet and comfortable

Smaragdi Stuios are pretty-much what you'd expect from self-catering - twin beds, 2 hotplates, fridge, bathroom with shower & wc, balcony with table and chairs. There is also a dressing table with mirror, bed-side tables with phone and a small table and two chairs in the room. There is a smallish pool (big enough to swim, but not large) with sunbeds around it. The studios are located on the outskirts of Kos town, with views over the surrounding countryside (there wouldn't be any sea views). There are two stories - the first floor is reached by concrete steps, so not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.

We found the room clean, with a maid visiting daily. The balcony had a shutter which enabled us to securely lock it while leaving the sliding door open to let in the air, which was really handy.

The lady who was usually on reception spoke very good English and was extremely helpful and friendly - even making a phone-call for us to book horse-riding. There is a bar in reception and a mini-market opposite (which sells the biggest croissants I've ever seen!)

It's about a mile walk into the centre of Kos Town, which was fine for us as we like walking and wanted to explore the town and historical/archaelogical sites. The location means that the stuios are nice and quiet at night - there are a couple of restaurants a few minutes along the road and the beach is only about 5-10 mins walk, but it's off the main run.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Unique Quality: You have to put your key-fob into a slot by the door to activate the electrics - when we first arrived in the middle of the night we thought the lights weren't working!
