"Plaka" Pure nature and grilling fun!
by hellas_nici
Plaka is a small forest where you can go for a walk and watch the colourful peacocks walking with you. For nature and animal lovers realy a place to go.
At weekends this area becomes a grilling place for natives where you can meet with others and have fun.
You'll find it about 4km north-west from Antimachia.
Promenade
by steventilly
The harbour promenade as seen from the battlements of the castle. As you can see there are lots of shady palm trees and across the road the some fine municipal buildings from the Italian era. From in front of those buildings is where the mini-train that does the city tour leaves, as well as the "town busses" that run between Lambi and Psaladi and beyond. The ticket and information office for these busses is in the white building.
At the bottom right of the picture the promenade follows the old castle moat along the bottom of the castle walls and leads to the ferry & cruise liner terminal.
Kos Church - Agia Paraskevi
by sandysmith
The Church of Agia Paraskevi dominates the central square of Kos town. Its huge and painted beige and blue and has a richly decorated interior. The courtyard outside has a lovely pebbled mosaic too. Pictured here are some frescos over the doorway of the church - I needed a wide-angle for all of it!
Kos Island
by marybellone
"The Most "Tropical looking" Island"
We were on the side of the island by Kos marina. A lot of charted sailing trips go out of this part of the island which is why we were there. This island is pretty far south and is very close to Turkey. You can actually see Turkey from this part of the island.
"View of hotels overlooking Kos harbor"
The water here is picture perfect. There are many hotels like this that are right on the water.
We got an even better view of the island from the boat that we were on. From here you can see hte mountains in the back.
