More Pefki eating recommendations
Pefki has about a dozen or so large eateries. Eating outside is the order of the day, out in the sea breeze, under the stars, next to a fountain.
I recall Artemis being quite stylish and inviting, but the food was only average and looking back it was one of the more expensive establishments.
By comparison the Hellas Garden was far better and surprisingly good value despite the fact the waiters take your order on high tech handheld computers. They have an expansive Mediterranean menu, from pasta to pizza plus all the Greek specialties. At the Hellas Garden we had a lovely selection of olives, hummus and pitta bread to start followed by pizza, chicken and lamb dishes all washed down by huge steins of Mythos lager. Christian raved about his stewed lamb in a pot with bacon and vine leaves. The meat dishes came with rice, potatoes and carrots on the side. Altogether we paid 39 euros for the best meal we had in Pefki.
The town also has a superb bakery and food shop at the top of the hill, called Tsambikas. It's a great spot when you have a sweet tooth or want something for your breakfast the next morning. I'm sure the calories you burn to reach it are equal to a big slab of halva. They have a restaurant upstairs and I bet the view at night from the balcony is superb.
You'll see quite a few shops for the tourists selling a mix of cheap booze, basic groceries, beach gear and souvenirs. The best one overall is the one across from the Summer Memories aparthotel. They have a better than average food selection, including fresh bread and produce, plus an amazing selection of beer and spirits.
Speaking of spirits...when buying ouzo stick to the large bottles. The small tourist versions in fancy bottles do not contain proper ouzo, because they know you are buying these as gifts to take back home, by which time it's too late to notice.

The pool at Summer Memories, nice but lots of kids
