The rooms are all different. Mine was elegantly simple with views out on to the city.Everything worked properly.
It is not the easiest of places to find-even the taxi couldn't take me right to the hotel but it is in such a special place. On the outside,it looks just like an ordinary house and the neighbourhood is residential and not at all part of the tourist area.
The owners and staff were outstanding in their friendliness and most helpful. The really stunning aspect for me was the terrace bar which has one of the world's great views of a wonderful city and seascape-right across the city and over to the Turkish coast. It was always a delight to have an evening drink there and watch the cruise liners slipping into the distance.
It had a magical atmosphere.
I also loved walking from the hotel into the city down a narrow street called Pythagora and in the evening coming back up and feeling that one was in a strangely timeless atmosphere.
Do not expect an anonymous modern hotel with all the facilities that this implies. This is a small, quiet and very special hotel which I,as a 75 year old independent traveller,
thought was memorable for the people who ran it and its location in one of the great cities in the world.
