More about Atlantica Princess Hotel

fantastic holiday at atlantica princess

by A TripAdvisor Member

Just come back from 2 weeks hol at Atlantica Princess Hotel, Ixia and could only say that it was fantastic! Went 22/09/04 for 2 weeks - weather in 90's every day. Party of 30 went out for our wedding, got married at the monastary nearby and had our reception at the hotel.
Every thing was absolutely perfect in every way.
The management did a superb job of organising it and the staff were tremendous making it the happiest day of our lives-they could not do enough for us- including complementary champagne and breakfast to the room
Could not fault the hotel in any way - everybody so freindly,every-where lovely and clean, food great- just +++++ !
As for the resort, a bit quiet due to end of season but a handful of eating places just outside the hotel - Zorbas being excellent.
Busier area about 15 min walk - think its called Iallyosos -walk straight out front of hotel, carry on straight, past Windlmill, 5 mins. further come to a collection of shops, restaurants and bars. The Washington was a lively bar, Mollies, did excellent home food.
Back nearer the hotel go accross pool area to a gate turn left, go for approx 500yds. to Two Freinds, next door is Alexandras run by Yaris "the mad Albanian" fantastic fella - he even came to our wedding and bought us a lovely present.
All in all we had a great holiday and hope to return again next year.
PS. anyne going over and meeting Yaris please just mention Pete and Lynda who got married.

fantastic

We went to Atlantica Princess Hotel for 2 weeks on a half board basis. We would definitely go back, it is excellent. The Hotel is spotless, fantastic hospitality, plenty of entertainment for kids. The array of food would not look out of place in a top London hotel. All day entertainment, great swimming pool, kids never bored. If we went back proabably go "all inclusive" as they get waited on at table not have to queue for drinks. Really cannot fault this hotel, best holiday every had. Would recommend to anyone.

Don't forget the Windmill Cafe/Bar

by A TripAdvisor Member

Cannot disagree with all the positive reviews about The Atlantica Princess. You have to be really picky to fault it for a good value hotel which has recently had a massive refurbishment. Along the walk back up the beach front - which is admittedly by no means the best in the world by a long way - you will pass the Windmill Cafe/Bar whose proprieter - Dimitri and his son Michelle (a french mother!!) will welcome you with open arms and Gallic kiss to both cheeks! and be happy for you to laze away the day with cocktails and simple salads. The Windmill itself is original and a haven of antiquity. The visitors book is testament to its effect on many visitors from across the world. Also, further along the beach walk and left at the end on the way to the main Rhodes road, is Ye Knights of Olde Restaurant run by Mikael and his wife Dawn(she of strong Glaswegian stock!!). Their welcome and bonhomie is infectious as is the quality and originality of their menu. Even if you are shut in by all-inclusive, you must get out and appreciate Rhodes away from the organised tours. There is much to see and in most of the villages or towns the welcome is real and genuine - forget Faliraki though!!!!! - Please remember Gaynor Menassie and Rhea to the above.

Excellent Accomodation

by TripAdvisor Member fieldj

We have just returned from a 14 night self catering holiday at the Atlantica Princess and enjoyed every minute of it. The apartment was extremely spacious with views of the pool from one room and views of the sea from another and the hotel was spotless with excellent facilities.

The hotel is also ideally located to sample shops and restaurants of both Ixia and Trianda. We tended to walk into Trianda in the evening which was only a 5 minute walk and seemed to have a bit more going on than Ixia. For eating out I would recommend the Restaurant Maestro which is on your left hand side as you walk into Trianda. We had a number of meals in this restaurant and the waiter and the owners were lovely making you feel very welcome.

We also went into Rhodes town a number of times which was beautiful and only cost approx 8 Euros in a taxi. The water park in Falaraki is well worth a visit also. This costs approx 14 Euros each way in a taxi and then the entrance is 20 Euros for and adult and 15 Euros for a child. If you visit the water park go on a Wednesday as there are a lot of arrivals and departures this day so there wont be as many people queing for the slides.

All in all we had an excellent holiday and the accomodation was superb.

Perfect Wedding

by A TripAdvisor Member

On the reccommendation of our local agent, we booked our family in to the Atlantica Princess for our Wedding, on a self catering basis. As soon as we arrived we knew we had made the right choice. The staff made us feel like VIPs enough though there were not the only wedding party. All the family had the split level apartments with one balcony facing the sea and the another balcony overlooking the pool.

The children were entertained daily in the kids club, giving their parents a well earned rest, while Mother developed a love of cocktails!

The "Elvis bar" a couple of doors down became our favourite haunt because the food was fantastic and all the staff were so friendly. The lady owner even did my sisters' nails for free when she heard they were over for my wedding - You can't beat service like that!

Our wedding at Filerimos could not have been more perfect. This monestry is well worth a visit because the view at the cross is absolutely amazing and the smell of the trees leading up to the cross is one we shall never forget.

The restaurant Manager at the Atlantica helped us to arrange our wedding reception meal and was on duty that evening to ensure everything went without a hitch. He also gave us a complimentary meal on our last evening.

We cannot fault this hotel and cannot wait to return!

WHAT A HOTEL?

by A TripAdvisor Member

Well came here in July 2000, to celebrate my son finishing his exams at school, so he took a mate with him, also my husband and my small son came two, we booked it through a company called Holiday Now, i had never heard of it before but had a really good deal, compared to to brochure prices for self catering we saved a £1000, on our two week holiday, when we arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning, though wow this looks nice, hotel was faultless, got to our room did not know what to expect as self catering you are usually all cramped into one room>>. Well it was the best apartment we have ever had, walked through the door to a bathroom and kitchenette area, two single bed settees, sliding doors to the balcony right overlooking the beach what views...then went downstairs, and had a double bedroom and a cot, and bathroom, also another balcony overlooking the lovely gardens and pool area, all the rooms were airconditioned, which is needed in July/August.. Lots to see and do in the daytime, lovely place for families, lovely beaches, and great for youngsters, i did not see my son and his friend hardly at all, lots of bars and nightclubs so no teenagers (how nice) so there was no moaning there. Thats it really no faults exept for the evening entertainment which was rubbish, and the staff do seem to look after there All Inclusive guests a bit better, but then they are paying alot more... would recommend this.

best holiday ever

As my sister lives on rhodes we decided to get married there. we couldnt have asked for a better hotel when we arrived at the hotel there was a bottle of champagne in our room and flower petels scattered over our bed! the hotel staff were so friendly and they were great with kids, in our party we had 4 under the age of 5 and 3 between 8 and 12 but there was something to keep them all entertained. if you are looking to get married in rhodes you couldn't choose a better hotel. The first choice staff are brilliant and the wedding went with out a hitch. We booked self catering and paid for half board when we got there it works out a lot cheaper. If you want to hire a car do so from the hotel reception it is so cheap. Make sure you visit the water park at least once as its brilliant. can't wait to go back.

Fab fab fab and even fab maybe even brilliant

by A TripAdvisor Member

Went ther for 2 weeks anyd my only complaint was that i didn't stay longer.
It was my wifes and my 4 kids first holiday abroad and they were over joyed. The staff the rooms and the location was second to none. We only stayed self catering but next time we go(which we deffinately will) we will be stayiny all inclusive.
Not forgetting the rep crew who made my childrens stay even more welcoming.
What more can i say other go there you will not be disappointed.

Highly Recommend this place

by TripAdvisor Member LindseyT

We spent a great week here (until my 3 year old got chicken pox!).
The room was excellent, a large double bed and a bunk bed for the girls. Sea view, with great sunrises to take my mind of the fact I was up so early with my poorly girl!
The buffet food was excellent, with the Greek and Italian nights bringing great choice. The salads at lunch time were great, and we never had a problem feeding the girls, without resorting to the nuggets/fishfingers and chips that were also available!
The entertainment was superb, ranging from quizzes with lunch to greek dancing displays one night.
The pools were good, although a little cold so early in the season. The kids clubs and Swim kids programme were excellent.
The staff were all brilliant, from the restaurant manager to the bar staff and the reception staff. The First Choice and Cosmos reps were also absolutely brilliant looking after us when Lucy became ill. They went beyond thier duty and even kept in touch when I had to leave the hotel.
My only criticism, it was too popular, at the end of my first week, they were fully booked so I had to move to a different hotel until we could fly home.
I heartily recommend this palce to anyone who wants to have an easy holiday where the kids have great fun, you can relax knowing everything is being taken care of.

Loved it - every bit of it!!!

by TripAdvisor Member LKandDTs_Mum

This hotel is absolutely fab, my husband, myself and the 2 kids (aged 7 and 2) all had a great time and we were only sorry that we hadn't booked 2 weeks, which I will next time.
The all inclusive package comes highly recommended and none of the food disappointed, none of us had any tummy problems either which is a small miracle with a 2 year-old, he even drank the local milk with no problems.
Pool was gorgeous after the initial 30 second shock of getting in the cool water, I'm sure it warms up as the day goes on and the kids play areas and clubs were great.
Don't be put off by the brochure description of the windy coast, it was more like a comfortable breeze which made the afternoons more comfortable for me and the kids.
Rooms were very spacious and comfortable too and lovely big bathroom.
Would also recommend First Choice who we travelled with but don't book the trips through them as they are a bit of a rip-off, next time I will hire a car.
Can't wait to go back and neither can the kids, in fact my daughter wants to move out there....

Rodos Village (Kiotari)

by Boyabouttown

have recently booked to stay in here in July and was after some advice.

Im aware that this is a fairly quiet resort but just wanted to ckecj how isloated it is, and how much a cab would cost to either Lindos or rhodes town for example. Are that accessible by public transport at all ?

Thanks

here you will find busschedules.you have to take the bus to Gennadi.
have a good time !! maria
ps in Rhodostown there ara 3 busstations :
1 for eastcoast
1 for westcoast
1 for town

Re: Rodos Village (Kiotari)

by kbr61263

there is on emain road down that coast, so all the buses will go through. We went for lunch in a restaurant in Kiotari. there are nice beaches between there and Lardos. I would be thinking of a hire car tho. the roads are pretty straightforward, and not too busy. (except perhaps right in Rhodes town)
