Bus from Kolymbia beach.

by Maurizioago

Are there any direct buses from Kolymbia beach to Lindos? I'm not sure if Kolymbia is a village or it is a beach.

hiya
kolymbia is a village - with 3 beaches and a hotel called kolymbia beach too

yes you have at least two options from kolymbia to lindos
firsly one bus comes down eucalyptus street and stops somewhere near memories bar ( on the opposite side of the street though) you can miss the stop - this bus gets really crowded

the other option is to walk right to the top of eucalyptus street and there are buses going to both lindos and rhodes town from there ( its a bit of a walk ) - ask your hotel reception for a bus timetable - they should have one -

lindos is one place every tourist seems to want to visit so usually all public transport to and from is really busy

once again enjoy rhodes

you are welcome
i seem to remember something about a boat trip from kolymbia to lindos too - if its still running - thats another - but probably more expensive option

Kolymbia is a village and also a beach, small, quiet and nice place, you can get direct buses to Rhodos the town or Lindos (boths are 25km from Kolymbia). You can also rent a car or m/bike.
The very nice place is Prasonisi, the most south part of the island.
Have a nice holiday.

Travel Tips for Rhodes (Island)

Haraki Bay

by sandysmith

This may not have been the sandiest beach we went to in Rhodes but it became one of my favourite for its relaxed, quiet air and picturesque setting in a small bay of a fishing village with views across to Lindos.. Well although there are a few fishing boats around its more of a small purpose built tourist resort but not many come here (buses are infrequent) so its peaceful - and that suited us perfectly.

Agathi Beach

by sandysmith

Oct 2006 we made it to Agathi beach - we didn't even have to climb the hill to Fecalos Castle and down the other side to reach it - the bumpy old track is now a decent road down and cars can be parked just behind the beach tavernas - so really handy. The sand here is beautiful and the water clean. Can be a bit of a swell and its fun riding the surf - but perhaps not so safe for children if unsupervised. This was definitely our most favourite beach on Rhodes. Smallish but not over-developed. or overcrowded A couple of tavernas serving good food and sunbeds for hire.

Against the strong sun and hard stones

by Maggies

As the sun is pretty strong here always remember about wearing a cap, sunglasses and putting sunblock.
If you go to the pebble beach on the western side of the island, the swimming shoes will be needed.

Kattavia

by sandysmith

It would be very easy to miss seeing this delightful village of Kattavia as you head for the coast road towards the tip of the island to Prasonisi but that would be a real shame. We made a point of stopping here for a drink on the return from Prasonis and we found a real greek gem. Mainly congregated around a crossroad are several tavernas with gingham checked tableclothes and little old greek men and women just waiting to serve you some refresments - it was a bit like stepping back in time and so so different from Rhodes Town.
Just a few metres away fro the centre is the Church of St Paraskevi with its italinate bell tower - in red!

Roaming Rhodes.

by allouc

Rhodes has a decent road network with the mountain roads providing spectacular vistas. Renting a car is the way to go in seeing the island. We spent 40 Euro (low season) in renting a car (Hundai Accent) which was delivered to the port and another 10 on gas for a full days driving. Be warned though that most gas stations are outside the cities and are less expensive than the central ones.
