Cheap Accommodation Inside Old Town

The people who run Kamiros also own Ganymedes Boutique Hotel. The rooms are about 100 metres from the hotel in it's own block.
I recommend this place because it is cheap, 20 euro (This is not PEAK season price) a night & 5 minutes from the main square in the old town. Central for eating & dining, partying, coming & going from the ferries/port.
A positive for singles is that you can bring someone back to your room without answering a thousand questions!.
The room I stayed in was upstairs, consisted of a double bed, plug in fan & seperate room for shower (Hand Held - water nice & hot after you hit the water heater switch) & toilet, note the toilet is in a tight spot, overweight people would have great difficulty - honest.
Didn't notice any heater but there may be one.

The drawbacks are the neighbours next door can be noisy, sound appears to travel quite easily through the old walls.
The door lock is dodgy & you may have trouble opening & closing it - takes practice getting the key in the right spot.

Unique Quality: Central to all amenities provided in the old town & Port. Especially when back packing it is very close, 10 minute walk.
