Travel Tips for Rodos (City)
Here you can see peacocks wandering freely. There are also other kinds of animals as geese, turtles and they say deers (I haven't seen these unfortunately). This park has also various kinds of trees; pine trees, eucalyptus, laurels and so on.
Children can have fun at a playground here. There is a also a cafe nearby.
Rodini Park is some three km from Rhodes. You can go there by bus. You have to take it opposite the Nèa Agora (the new market); near the harbour.
Earhquakes and neglect removed the arhictectural glories of the temples and monuments that once stood here. Today at the summit of Monte Smith are the restored remains (thanks to the italians) of a doric Temple of Apollofrom th 3rd century B.C. Today it is still a landmark to ships at sea and indeed the views from the top across to the Turkish coast and the island of Symi are very fine indeed - especially at sunset.
Cocktail Bar in the old town of Rhodes
This is a very comfortable and popular restaurant situated in the old part of the town of Rhodes.
From the terrace of the restaurant, the guests have a splendid view over the old architecture of the city.
It is very pleasant to come here, and to eat a good traditional or international food, and to drink a cocktail or a fresh beer.
MONASTERY @ MOUNT FILERIMOS
The Monastery was built in the 5th century AD by the Byzantines and is located on the top of the Mountain.
In front of the steps leading up to the monastery are the remains of a Greek temple, the cross- shaped baptistery of the first Christian basilica and the tiny underground chapel of St George, with faded 15 th- century wall paintings
Roman Catholic as well as Greek Orthodox Christians worshipped the icon of the Virgin of Filerimos in the hexagonal Church of the Knights though at separate altars. The Hexagonal Church of the Knights houses the icon of the Virgin of Filerimos.
To the rear of the monastery are the impressive remains of the Byzantine garrison.

Relax on the Beach
There is a fantastic little sandy beach situated just outside the Old Town in Commercial Harbour, literally seconds away from the shops & restaurants. After a hard days sightseeing in the Old Town, I can think of nothing better than a few moments relaxing here watching the ships go by.
