Anthony Quinn's Bay.
by Maurizioago
Ladiko Bay, or Anthony Quinn's Bay lies on the northeastern coast and only 15 km away from the town of Rhodes. Ladiko became famous after Anthony Quinn’s movie the Guns of Navarone was filmed here. Anthony Quinn bought part of this area.
The beach here is small, but it wasn't crowded at the end of june.
Moslem Cemetry Memorials
by sandysmith
There are a whole host of gravestones here amongst the weeds and tumbledown grass. I could have spent ages here. I learnt that the ones with turbans were memorials for for males whilst the simpler ones were for females. Really shoes should be removed when entering such places as in moslem tradition but I'm sorry I didn't think the bare ground was safe enough for that in its untidy state.
A Peaceful Oasis
by Myfanwe about Socratous Garden Cafe
The Garden restaurant is situated just off the main shopping street of Socratous. Compared to the hustle and bustle of this street, this lovely little cafe-bar provides a great place to relax. The seating area is set out amidst mature shrubs and palm trees with some lovely water features and ornate pots to complete the setting. We just called in for a drink this time but I would love to call in again & try out some of the food.
Oh yes, don't forget to say hello to the lovely green parrott on your way out!!
Cathedral of St John
by sandysmith
This cathedral, just to the side of Mandraki harbour, is said to be an exact copy of the church that stood opposite the Placace of the Grand Masters in the old town. Its now the main church on Rhodes and is the seat of the archbishop of the Dodecanese. Its ajacent campanile looks very venetian like and has a carving of the venetian lion too.

This gate makes the connection between the Embona Harbour and the inside of Symi Square.
This is a large gate, near the Freedom Gate.
The Aphrodite Temple is to be seeing, immediately after the entrance through this gate.
