Average tourist hotel

When arriving to Hotel Manousos you can see newly painted, nicely furnitured reception area with a nice bar and breakfast area. Receptionists do not waste time in giving unneccessary information like where and when breakfast is, where rooms are or opening hours or location of the pool is. But never the less when you arrive to your long awaited holiday you do not get bothered so easily.
The hotel was built in 1969, renovated in 1998 thus hallways, rooms, bathrooms, pool and elvators look untouched since then. Even though the decoration might look tacky in the 21st century, you soon accept that rooms have everything you possibly need (fridge, tv, air conditioner, additional glasses, ashtreys, extra pillow, blankets and a balcony). Bathrooms are small, old but clean, we also found a telephone above wc.
One thing that was rather bothering that during the warmest hours of the day you want to stay inside because of intolerable heat outside but you can not find one single international channel on the tv.
The breakfast is served between 7 am and 10 am. The buffet has good selection and is definitely one of the better qualities of the Hotel Manousos. Among ordinary hotel breakfast ingredients like bread, cereals, yoghurt, cheese, ham, eggs, bacon, sausages, french fries you can easily find greek traditional food: greek pie with pudding, traditional greek cheese pie, greek black olives, self made greek coffee and pudding. What we really missed on the breakfast buffet was fruits and vegetables. The breakfast staff seem to stop filling the buffet after 9:30 am and precisely at 10:00 am run with everything to the kitchen.

Unique Quality: Even though the pool is not new or big, it is a good refresher on a hot day. Yacht club, hotel bar, is nice and never too busy with its relaxed bartender. The Hotel serves evening buffet for 10 euros but we did not try it though it was busy every night so we assume it is rather good.

The hotel is close to the windy beach (windy is not so bad in august :)) and to the main bar-party street in Rhodos City. Fortunatelly, the balcony door is new and isolates sounds 99%.
